I had a great time with THPSHD, despite its obvious flaws. Hope it hits Game Pass.

There is a lot of negative reaction in here which is somewhat surprising, feels like the poor HD release last gen has left people with THPS PTSD or something!

Great news. I've played in the past few weeks with an emulator and they still hold up very well. Shame that there is no 3 or 4 but hopefully these are on the cards.

Also THPS 5 was terrible. I hope it's good but I'm not going to hold breath.

The negative reactions are kind of understandable, but there shouldn't be any reason to worry here. THPS HD was made by the same people who did THPS5. Meanwhile, Vicarious Visions have this one, and we know how great they are at remaking and remastering.

The budget for the last couple of Tony Hawk's games had a really low budget. Even a good developer is going to struggle when they don't have the time/ money to do a good job.

That, THPS5 being bad, the lack of certainty over the soundtrack (which is a big part of the nostalgia for the games), and the fact it's only 2 games when 3 at least is really popular and we've had collections like the spyro and crash trilogies altogether. If they were only going to do two games I think they should have done 2+3 tbh, those are always held up as the best (and I'm a 3 supporter myself).

To be fair, I'd have gone for 2 and 3 as well. Much better levels.

That’s a shame For whoever drew the short straw in developing 5 and HD. The fault therefore lies with Activision(or whoever holds the license if that’s changed) for being too cavalier with the license, causing brand damage and lowering consumer expectation for future iterations.

Good start, especially chuffed with Lagwagon(it’s Lagwagon day on Saturday - May 16th) and Powerman 5000(SO THIS IS WHAT ITS LIKE WHEN WORLDS COLLIIIAAAAAHHHHH). Still a few to get though - Anthrax, for a start.

If done to the same standards as their other licenses, namely Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, there's no reason this can't be excellent.

Some arsehole from school stole my copy of THPS2 and I never repurchased it.
