Same here. Sometimes you’ve just got to forget bargains and go with the wave of enthusiasm.

The gaps in THPS2 are insane at times. You’re looking at 40+ per level (except the Chopper Drop) and a whopping 68 in Skater Heaven. Craziness.

Hit upon a genius way of spamming towards the 10 hour grind total, and have had the game on with grind assist having my CAS rattle around a table for five hours this morning. :slol:

I'm terrible at this game. But I'm still really enjoying it. Looks great, music is fantastic, super smooth to play and the amount of content for the price shows how far many games have fallen.

Would love a switch version of this for long journeys.

Really getting into this now, love the gameplay (even though i'm a bit rubbish at it), and the soundtrack is just as good as i remember.

Soundtrack is the best I've heard for a very long time. Just back to back catchy songs. I turned the game sounds down to 5 and left the music at 10.

The unlock system is really smart, makes the player get better to earn a new location.

I'm jumping back and forth between the two games and slowly unlocking more stages. The interface is really easy to navigate and it's nice to see a big game with a cast that is older than the usual protagonists.

Wish my image sig would work

Got all the gaps there. strawberry float me that was tough though, I forgot how brutal some of the gaps in the game are. Had to use super-stats for the last few and I'm not proud of it. Next up is the skater-specific challenges, because even after completing the game, finding all the gaps, doing a ton of combo challenges etc. I'm only at level 55.

From looking at True Achievements it looks like level 100 will require something like 300-400 hours of gameplay...strawberry float. Nobody has it yet.

Got a free code from a relation in the states on wifes side who works for Activision. I've never played any skate boarding game before so I'm wondering if I'll 'get it' or not as many are getting this for the retro feels.

The 10,000 point lip trick/revert goal is doing my dinger. Can't get past about 4,000 points for the lip trick part of it without slamming my face into the ramp.

Oh, not too bad.

I feel like a lot of my posts in this thread will end up in no context.

I’ve just realised I never played THPS2! I had the first game on Dreamcast, and I thought I’d played 2 on the original Xbox, but that was 3 (a launch title, too). So this has just become substantially better value for me.

Making very slow progress, though it’s coming back to me. I just need a gold medal to finish the rookie challenges, but I’m hopeless at the competition stages (I bail too often).

Been blasting through it over the past few days and I'm having a utter blast, there's so much to do with the hundreds of challenges and secrets in levels to find. Also the multiplayer is pretty fun and busy too. As for the Soundtrack, it's utterly awesome.

Another fantastic remake by Activison and the team at VV, for the amount of crap Activision has pulled over the years, their remakes have been some of my favouirte games of the generation.

I'm just working my way to unlocking all the videos at the moment and I'm still having so much fun. Still haven't been able to tear myself away to play more Dishonored.

Zilnad, how the *strawberry float* did you do the flatland tricks with the Create a Skater to unlock the character? It's one of the last achievements I need and I can't get anywhere near the flatlands challenges to unlock him.

It takes bloody ages to get some semblance of how to do them, but when it clicks you'll be getting mental scores in every level. Also, prioritise stat point pickups to avoid frustration. For me, the best way to do it was to find a pool or halfpipe and do big grab tricks then connect them up with a revert and manual. Instant 100,000 point combos. :shifty:

EDIT: Level 100 STILL shows a 0.00% unlock rate. It's either glitched, or getting to level 100 is *insanely* tough. I'm at level 56 currently and running out of big reward challenges to go through.

I’m doing something wrong, because I did just that last night. I land with a revert and go into a manual, but then everything stalls and I have no momentum to launch off the other side and carry on.

Do you just need a high score for the Flatland challenge? It was one of those challenges that I unlocked without actively attempting it :datass:

Are you using the special tricks? There are a few special manuals that'll raise the score a lot. Also, are you double tapping the face buttons while in a manual? Doing so will perform flips and handstands and what not which will of course increase your multiplier.

Hold down X (on PS4) to go faster. It works while in a manual too.

Got this today. It’s very very playable isn’t it, hard to get back to those old skills though and took me a while to get the Pro score on the first level :fp:

Having trouble landing any kind of grab at the moment as I can’t seem to get enough hang time.

Forgot quite how addictive this was too :dread:

Well goddamn. That seems so obvious, but I never tried it. I must have known that from the original game, but muscle memory didn’t kick in. Thank you! This will change everything.
