Making very slow progress, though it’s coming back to me. I just need a gold medal to finish the rookie challenges, but I’m hopeless at the competition stages (I bail too often).

It takes bloody ages to get some semblance of how to do them, but when it clicks you'll be getting mental scores in every level. Also, prioritise stat point pickups to avoid frustration. For me, the best way to do it was to find a pool or halfpipe and do big grab tricks then connect them up with a revert and manual. Instant 100,000 point combos. :shifty:

EDIT: Level 100 STILL shows a 0.00% unlock rate. It's either glitched, or getting to level 100 is *insanely* tough. I'm at level 56 currently and running out of big reward challenges to go through.

Do you just need a high score for the Flatland challenge? It was one of those challenges that I unlocked without actively attempting it :datass:

Are you using the special tricks? There are a few special manuals that'll raise the score a lot. Also, are you double tapping the face buttons while in a manual? Doing so will perform flips and handstands and what not which will of course increase your multiplier.

No, it’s the two challenges for doing 15 and 25 tricks in a combo using either only flatlands tricks or flips and manuals. Can’t get bloody near them. Those two aside I can probably get through just about all of the rest of the challenges on the list.

Oh yeah, for those I just went into a manual and tapped the face buttons to do loads of tricks on the spot. I think I did it by accident while playing as Rodney Mullen and emulating that famous competition footage of him. I assume you're using the dpad to balance?

I've never wanted to be a teenager more than right now. Just wish I could go back and skateboard again. Not really socially acceptable for a 30 something to skate around the village.

Do whatever you feel like dude. I have 2 friends in their 30s and both skateboard whenever they get the chance.

I remember reading during the tutorial that you can also hold the face buttons during a grind to switch tricks, but I can’t get that to work, so I’m not sure I read it right.

If I had a friend to do it with, I would. If I win the lottery in the next few weeks I'll definitely get a house with a vert ramp in the garden.

If you double tap the face buttons, it'll work.

Dude, that's rough  Best years of my life. Skating and Counter Strike, all day, every day.

Man the turnaround on those challenges was crazy after realising how to flatland, I managed to blast through the last half-dozen or so challenges(including the one for getting a combo higher than the sick score on every level, which I hadn't started) in under an hour tonight.

I'm still focusing on the stat points at the moment. It doesn't actually take that long if you end the level once picking them all up but I've been completing the 2 minutes each time to try and get higher scores and to chip away at each skater's personal challenges while I'm playing as them. I have just over half the videos unlocked now.

I'm trying to get the ultimate series of challenges out of the way then I'll move on and probably start mixing it up between individual skater goals, par times(I got the hard par time on School I tonight, was insanely proud of myself) and platinum score challenges. I doubt I'll ever get all 700-odd challenges done but 650 would be a nice goal to get to. Genuinely think I'll still be playing this past Christmas.

I love being able to play a game with a time limit again. Bring sega’s arcade games to next gen!

Has anyone noticed there are 27 challenges noted in the secret section of the skate park challenges, but only six are available to view?

I found out the reason for that - there are some secret challenges that unlock when you meet the requirements. I won't spoil what they are, but...strawberry float. :slol:

So are they just insane combos/scores then? If it's genuinely interesting hidden stuff like secret areas then don't tell me.

Some are genuinely fun little secrets and easter eggs, but a couple of them are frankly ludicrous combo scores - I read that one is to get 22 million on Burnside - but I'd hope that you can use the perfect balance for them.

Started going through the platinum goals list. Method seems pretty standard for every level - find a halfpipe, do some big scoring grab tricks, then jump into a manual or long grind(or both) and pump up the multiplier as high as you can before safely coming out of the combo. Managed to bail on a 400,000 point combo in School I and almost shat.
