I can’t keep track of the challenges, the UI in this I find really horrible. It’s difficult to know where to go to look at some tasks and what you need to do to complete them.

Some of the tips in here have helped but I can’t reliably get combos over 50k yet. Some of the challenges where you have to get high scores without grinding I don’t understand how to do.

Usually it's grab, revert, manual, grab. I haven't really been using them but you can also put on perfect balance etc. in the cheats menu.

Can't honestly say I've had an issue with the user interface either.

EDIT: The Get There challenges are strawberry floating mental. Did the first two, in warehouse and school I, and the rest just look bloody ridiculous. Spent 45 minutes trying the one in Mall and just rage quit.

If I buy the disc Version of this is there a day 1 patch that needs downloading?

Our internet is nerfed at the moment to around 0.9mbs until I change suppliers. Can't be doing with downloads at the minute

Competed a few platinum scores and speed run challenges tonight but I think I'm going to continue unlocking everyone's stat points first and then spend some time completing the skater specific challenges. The really high score stuff is pretty damn hard and I don't want to tire myself chasing an insane score for who knows how many hours!

Indeed. I don't know how the hell I'm going to get a score of 2.5 million on skater heaven in two minutes, but I'll give it my damndest.

I rarely even reach a score of 50k on my runs.

I think this means i'm officially a rubbish skater. :fp:

At least you're not alone with that. The only way I can hit that high a score is to spam grind rails while moving between them with manuals, and even then I'll still sometimes fail.

The most reliable way I've found to get a really high score is to find a pool, do a big jump and long grab trick, pull a revert into a manual, go up the other end of the pool and repeat, then revert and manual back up the other side, go into a grind and double tap B, X and Y to switch grinds rapidly and boost up the multiplier. Jump off when the grind-o-meter starts to get unstable and you can get scores of 2-300,000 in one combo.

EDIT: Turns out I'm pretty good at finding speedrun lines for the levels, currently 43rd on School II and finished all ten objectives in 1:20.

Picked this up at launch on the PC as I played the originals to death when I was a kid on my original PlayStation.

It looks stunning but I just couldn’t get into it like I did way back when and ended up returning it on the Epic Store as it failed to live up to my nostalgia.

Think it showed a lot how much game development has come along over the years, I found a lot of the levels completely empty, think I was hoping NPCs would be skating about, people walking along the streets etc, making the worlds feel alive. Instead I was just skating around some familiar ghost towns to the old school soundtrack not really feeling like I was achieving much.

It's a shame as I was really looking forward to this releasing but something just didn’t click with me like I hoped it would.

Pro Skater 4 was *my* game. I preferred the open world levels especially San Francisco.

If you’ve bought this digitally on Xbox, get on over to the Rewards app and you can bag yourself 4,000 points.

I've seemingly got worse at the game as I remember I could quite comfortably get combo's well over 100,000 and now I struggle to get anything over 30,000. :x

I think I had THPS3 and was competent enough at it, not great but certainly better than now I think.

Got this on Friday and spent the weekend playing through it and Platinum-ing all courses. Probably played for about 10-15 hours so far. I guess all that time spent getting good at THPS3 back in the day helped.

Is there any reason to play through the game with different characters other than unlocking their video or to play as them?
Do you get anything worthwhile for collecting all of the Vicarious Visions logos? I'm missing a couple in the main levels and haven't even been able to find one in Skate Heaven.

Not really, a badge and some experience points is your reward for that. For the other characters, they all have 21 different objectives that unlock XP and gear but they're not really what you'd call essential things.
