The concept of the album apparently revolves around the number seven, coincidentally enough. "I took a picture pointing to the number seven while we were recording, and a lot of the riffs Justin [Chancellor] and I brought in were in seven," Jones explains. "You don't really go, 'I'm going to write a riff in seven!'...Without being too descriptive about the concept, the main thing is that the seven beat just kept coming up, and riffs in seven kept coming up. It was really weird!"
As if the number seven didn't seem to linger around the band enough, Maynard James Keenan then told Jones about a concept he had written for the record, which related to the number as well. Album artist Alex Grey created a concept based on seven as well, which will Jones says will show "through video."

Actually tempted to buy it.

Doesn't seem like it.
I really want this on CD but I'm not going to pay £80 for it, don't want any of the 'bonus' shite that comes with it.
Hopefully there'll be a FLAC version available digitally.

I think I'm gonna have to. It feels wrong not to have a Tool album without a physical form. Heck for me it feels wrong for any album I've only ever actually bought a few songs online.

Same here, I've only ever bought one album (John Frusciante - The Empryon) and the one EP (Ty Segall - Fried Shallots) purely because the physical versions were going for ridiculous prices.
The former was from Amazon music and had terrible sound quality (variable bitrate mp3 ) and the latter from bandcamp in glorious FLAC which sounds great.

I've ordered it. It's ok though because I'll just Ænima track 7 my way out of debt.
