Looking forward to opening that! and then starving the death

Been giving every one of their albums a listen today. Just 10,000 Days to go. Cant believe a new Tool album is actually about to happen. Last time I was playing Super Monkey Ball on my GC.

Going to give this a listen later... Only really ever clicked with Lateralus which is nothing short of incredible. I like odd songs of their others.

Surprised you couldn't hear me giving it a spin. :shifty:

I'm really disappointed. It ended.

Not massively blown away, although the album definitely gets better as it goes on. Will need to give it a few listens to get a proper feel for it I think.

Why am I in work instead of at home listening to this? It’s most unfair.

I've just been called into work. I've put it on the restaurant sound system. :datass:

Listening to it atm, my god it's good.

A little more relaxed to start with but has some epic heavy bits too, not sure how it compares to their other stuff yet as that'll requires a few more listens.

Love Chocolate Chip Trip btw, wasn't expecting that.

I cant stop listening to it. I can hear echoes of basically every album in it. Its closer to Lateralus and Aenima then 10,000 Days in tone I'd say but still has plenty of that in it to. Partly because aint no man stupid enough to say no to Justins beautiful melodic bass intros. Some of Adams guitar parts even sound Undertowy to me. Yet despite all that it still comes across as something unique to me. Think they have pushed the synth work more on it which gives it a slightly different flavour. Also a lot of that reminds me of Pertwee era Doctor Who soundscapes. :shifty: I've no idea how 7emptest is 15mins long btw. It never feels like it. Everytime I wonder if something is beginning to drag on the album it changes and evolves into something. Like that whole section on Invincible. You know the one. The way Danny drums around that riff :datass:

I was surprised by CCT to, mainly because they have never really just had a drum solo track. Usually its part of a song (eg. 46&2). Can only assume Danny just got bored with everyone else taking so long and one day just said strawberry float it.

I think I kind of agree with him, its a bloody good album but not quite what you'd expect from Tool in terms of songwriting.

I swear there is a sound tucked away in the background of Descending thats just like my doorbell when I've got headphones on.

Sounds like we shouldn’t have to wait another 13 years.

The sound quality of that is abysmal, hope they sounded better than that to everyone at the venue.

Other than the fact that I can't physically go to gigs, I've never seen the appeal of live performances as they always sound 'off' and the crowd noises drown out the music.
