I really disregard anything HSH says about films after he said that There Will Be Blood is overrated and put Juno above it. I mean christ, how idiotic do you have to rate Juno above There will Be Blood? Also, if I remember correctly he rated Into The Wild as one of the best films of the last few years, which is just a load of old bollocks.

I think it was back on old GR. After I proclaimed that The Lives Of Others was the best film of last year he pipped in with Into The Wild, which at the time because I wasn't familiar with his general nature I believed to be a joke. Now with hindsight I realise what a momentously stupid statement that is.

I can understand liking it, but best film of the last few years? Quite the overstatement.

This here HSH doesn't seem to have developed a Theory of Mind as a young child. How peculiar.

I find it utterly perplexing that people rate There Will Be Blood so highly.

Its obviously a good film, but its also kind of dull.

No Country for Old Men is orders of magnitude better.

And out of those id say i actually liked Cloverfield the best. So there you have it ladies and gents, Cloverfield film of the year

Don't laugh - I'm with you on that one. As a bombastic cinema experience, nothing beat it this year for me.

As far as two thoosand n' nine goes, I've little doubt that The Road will be the best fing evah.

Have you seen The Proposition? Bleak as strawberry float. The Road is going to be amazing.

Yup, saw it a while back. I strawberry floating hate Ray Winstone, so to actually come away from watching that film thinking it was great was quite some achievement. That bit where John Hurt gets shot when he's torturing Mike from neighbours, and you don't hear the shot because it was fired from so far away....that was smart. Kind of reminded me of the bit in Deliverance where the same thing happens to that guy on the raft.

But I digress. Talented Director + Viggo Mortensen, Robert Duvall, and Charlize Theron + bloody amazing book for adaptation = no chance of crapness. And then one must consider the fact that a certain Joe Penhall wrote the adaptation, and he was the talent behind 'The Long Firm' which is one of the most incredible dramas I've ever seen on the TV, despite being all full of gay.

Yeah The Proposition was amazing, brutal and depressing. As soon as i heard the dude who made that was making this it just ment instant win.

When is it out anyway? best be soon cause it was supposed to come out in Nov. the picture from the film kicking about looks great though, looks so gritty and bleak. I dread what some of the books stuff is gonna like on the big screen. Duvall is in it! Awesome (That man cannot age)

I think it's out soon. February, I 'heard'. A good bleak month if ever there was one.
