Give your recommendations on what film OSTs that personally standout for you and give an explanation on what your standout track is and why

Moon OST

Image

Standout Track

Soon as 'Welcome To Lunar Industries' hits, bam, i'm totally sucked into it's universe. That simple back and forth piano keys building up to the drums, you feel that space madness setting in

Drive OST

Image

Standout Track

The perfect blend of 80's music given a cotempary feel creating quite a unique film score. 'Real Human Being' leaving you with an upbeat feeling but at the same time showing the sacrifice of the character

Tron Legacy

Image

Standout Track

Another soundtrack that captures the film brilliantly with it's 80's synthesizers, what better combination than Daft Punks computer rock and Tron's video game dystopia. 'End Of The Line' for is the perfect scene setter

I don't think any other superhero/comic based movie in history has ever captured the magnificence of John Williams' Superman.

A truly great buy.

The Moon OST is probably my all time favourite. Welcome To Lunar Industries would be my standout track as well, although the longer version that closes the album.

Other notable mentions are The Social Network and The Dark Knight, both of which get regular listens.

Can't be arsed linking them, but you have to all listen to the soundtracks of Drive, Road to Perdition and Copland.

One of the most relaxing tracks ever composed. I'm tempted to buy Deckard's whiskey glass so I can listen to this and re-enact the above scene when I'm in need of some downtime. :slol: I'll need a balcony first I suppose. It's used amazingly during Zhora's retirement also. The track tomvek posted and Memories of Green deserve a mention as well.

That was nearly the one I chose but instead I went for the more iconic one :D

Someday I will do what you described above

Anything by Basil Poledouris.

I'm going to pass on recommending specific tracks, though. I've simply linked to the main theme of a bunch of movies up there.

Love me a good film soundtrack. Am a bit of a sucker for your standard orchestral mix.

I'm off out to a shitty jubilee barbecue so I don't have the time to find YouTube videos. However, I did do a list of my favourite soundtracks here for the one person that might be interested.

Myaaat. So good it doesn't need mentioning. Same is obviously true for Indie and Jurassic Park.
