You started at 50 like everyone else...then I reviewed you comments yesterday.

Mocky lost points for presuming it was a singular strawberry float, when it wasn't at all clear from what you meant.

(And Mardy isn't in the dictionary :P)

Precedent implies it was a singular strawberry float.

Precedent:

"Oh for Pete's sake." Singular Pete.

"Oh for Heaven's sake." Singular Heaven.

You need to step up to the plate and realise your error. 8-)

Could have been for many strawberry floats sake. JV is a shag monster - it's likely he'd be doing something for many many squirts.
It's only you that are focused on getting that one, first, squeeze.

You're right. I'm going to step down from the plate now and let destiny decide our fates.

Tell you what Mocky - you can re-apportion yours/JV scores.

But the combined total can't change from what it is now.

STOP MENTIONING THE strawberry floating PLATE.

In baseball you step up to the plate on your TURN. It's not a symbol of initiative, taking risks, etc.

Take IGM's post, just above this one:
IGM wrote:It took me ages to get it, but once I did

Generally your grammar seems top notch, but Eighthours, Hero of Canton and I (I'm sure there are others) would put a full stop before the emoticon, just because it's proper.

No, no, no. If anything was to be placed before the emoticon it would have been something like a dash or a colon, as it is part of the same sentence. This would have been followed by a full stop. However, I find punctuation after emoticons to look a little ungainly and out of place unless I am continuing to talk (type) immediately after it. I, basically, said (wrote) "It took me ages to get it, but once I did I laughed out loud." so the only thing missing is the unnecessary full stop.

That's my story and I am sticking to it.

The reason I said 'proper' instead of 'correct' is because, even though you raise a valid point, I can't lose the full stop completely and putting it after the emoticon looks ridiculous. I must have it there, though! I would feel dirty without it.

I quite understand your concerns, but I remain staunchly opposed to breaking up a perfectly formed sentence with a full stop for the sake of propriety. I would suggest putting a tiny spot on you computer screen with a marker pen and navigating my post and any future posts into position to give the impression that the phantom full stop is in place.

As Hexx has now called me 'a shag monster' I shall retract my rather rude previous statements.

20? strawberry float you Hexx! *shakes fist* That makes me worse than JV.

I can honestly say that I thought G/L would be the least controversial category but it seems I was very, very wrong.

I was supposed to close Debate yesterday but was a bit too busy. I'm going to close it today and score everyone up so any last minute Debaters need to get their score in sharpish.

Whoops. That's actually a typo

It really was meant to be 70

Step down from the plate, Hexx. You had your chance to make a difference.
