Although I've already bought this on Steam, I'm not sure it'll get much attention right away. Guild Wars 2 is hogging all my gameplay time at the moment.

I'm almost at the end of the story and level 80 so I'll probably give GW2 a rest for a couple of weeks while I dive head first into this.

Started off as an Engineer. I'm a few bosses in and it's pretty good, it would be interesting to see what the other classes are like just to see, I don't feel particularly mobile and too much like a tank for my liking.

i've played about 3 hours of this so far and really enjoying it, i haven't gone online yet but so far I'm having a lot of fun, the graphical style is style really nice and the action is decent and at times quite intense especially when you get a hug horde of monsters as you have to balance out how much mana you have left , what special moves to use and then concentrating that the health does not get too low. Anyone played online yet.

Seems the miserablists over at Game Central loved it! :o

In Short: Probably the best dungeon crawler in the world, including Diablo III. And what it lacks in storytelling and originality it makes up with pitch perfect design and pacing.

Pros: A perfectly teased trail of loot and addictive action, with a huge variety of attractive, varied backdrops and enemies. Six-player co-op and near infinite longevity.

Cons: Very few new ideas of any kind. Perfunctory story and forgettable dialogue.

Score: 9/10

So people's opinions?

Played the first one on PC and 360 quite a bit, can't beat a bit of RPG looting.

Not picked this up yet, might get it on Payday or wait until its cheaper a bit.

Seems this is a bit good then. I have so much that needs playing right now I probably wont get around to this until the new year, good problem to have I guess.

its pretty amazing in my opinion and i have only played single player, i haven't played a good looting game in a while but there is something quite addictive about it.I did buy the first one but hardly played it due to loads of other games at the time but this one has hooked me. The pets are brilliant as well and i had no idea you could turn your pets in to different animals/monsters. Was that in the first one.

Anyone else want to arrange some game time online. I am free tonight.

Can't play this as for some reason it won't let me type in a character name, I've tried several times but the game just won't accept any input from either the keyboard or on-screen keyboard.

After about 4 hrs of play I can't see me coming back to this at all; D3 did my fix for ARPG and I find little in a challenge from this even at highest difficulty - I also appreciate having every enemy drop tons of loot, but it would help if ever piece of gear wasn't completely trash (Atleast as limited as drops were in D3, I would end up after a run with some decent gear, this continues to throw my triple not even worth picking up to sell). I'd also be willing to play a little longer and further in the game if I could stand to look at it as well. Maybe the Outlander is broken and too overpowered, might try a melee character and give it another chance next week.

Best ARPG of the year, who'd have through Ord would jump to that conclusion already

Sorry but the loot I've received so far from the game takes a gooseberry fool on anything I ever picked up in Diablo III. I think the main difference between this and Diablo III is fun. Diablo III just didn't have any, while this has it in spades. There's a reason why there was such a big backlash by a majority of gamers on Diablo III. It was dump! Always online, execrable loot system and the auction house just to name a few. The only thing I liked about Diablo III was the skill system, which Blizzard also buggered up.
Torchlight 2 fixes all that gooseberry fool and delivers a phenomenal ARPG experience.
It's a shame you aren't enjoying the game, but most of the feedback that's online from reviewers and gamers alike seem to be stating the same thing I have in the thread title. This is the best ARPG of the year. If people can't get past the actual graphical style and enjoy the game, then I feel a little sorry for them, as they would be missing out on a brilliant game.

It's very good. I'll freely admit that it's not pushing the boundaries of the aRPG, but what it does it does very very well.
