Sadly I haven't got the time to go back to it before the beta ends, but hopefully they'll open it up again so I can try the berserker and what not. Can't really see it changing my mind. In fact it's changed my mind about Diablo. I think it's more ambitious than it seems, with what they've done to the classes. Don't know about the Barbarian or Witch Doctor but the Monk and the demon Hunter are like nothing I've seen in an ARPG.

I'm not very keen on the graphics, I just don't like this cartoony feel at all - I guess coming from Diablo where I love the painted art work, this feels some what... empty.

The APRG genre is very difficult to judge imo - it's very specific in the way it does things and I think it's hard to judge them on early areas and the start of the game (because you don't get much in terms of skills and loot is always lacking) So I won't pass judgement on this in anyway yet (still going to give the beta a longer run), but considering I wasn't a fan of Torchlight's end game I'll certainly be waiting for this in sale at the moment

Anyone done the Watchweald Temple yet? Ends in the boss fight with Grand Regent Eldrayn.
Compared to the other dungeons I've done it seemed significantly harder. Most of them I got through only using a few potions here and there, and rather quickly too with no real problems.

In this one I died several times attempting and the boss was an absolute bastard. If it hadn't been for another player randomly coming in and joining me half-way through the run i'd probably have given up and returned on my own once I'd levelled up a bit. My Embermage is at Lvl18 just now and I doubt I'll go back to this after I reach the level cap as I'm going to keep the rest of the classes for when the full game releases.

I'm loving the more open environments. As much as I loved the original it was a bit depressing treading through a lot of very enclosed areas for the whole game.

So yeah, can't wait. :D

Cheers to Mobzy for a copy of the original, will give it a go this evening as I haven't played an ARPG in ages, and this looks much more appealing than Diablo 3 (and cheaper). If I like it i may dump for Torchlight 2.

My Torchlight II pre-order is taunting me in my Steam Library. I'm hoping for an August release date.

I got this for my birthday (as a preorder) from my brother back in June. It just stares at me sorrowfully now.

Lego Grand Theft Auto... You KNOW you would buy it.

Offical release date announced - 20th September
Dungeon-crawling sequel Torchlight 2 will arrive for PC on 20th September 2012, developer Runic Games has announced.

"I don't think there's much else I could say that would interest you right now, so - the official release date for Torchlight 2 is Thursday, September 20th, 2012. Three weeks away!", Runic president Travis Baldree wrote on the official Torchlight 2 blog.

"We'll announce it 'more' officially and bigger tomorrow. You know first! Thank all of you for being an awesome and patient community. We look forward to getting this into your hands!"

The launch date marks the end of a long wait for Torchlight fans. The title was originally due to launch in 2011, before rival role-player Diablo 3.

Delayed to add extra polish (and due to development time spent on the Xbox Live Arcade version of the original Torchlight), Torchlight 2 will arrive four times the size of its predecessor.

"In terms of scale, Torchlight 2 is close to four times the scale of Torchlight 1 as far as assets go, and probably close to that as far as playtime," Baldree previously explained.

"Ideally, the multiplayer that everyone has asked for will further increase the longevity of the game."

Eurogamer went hands on with a near-complete build just a few months ago.

"Torchlight 2 doesn't feel like a budget Diablo 3. It may be priced at a third of Diablo 3's download, but it holds its own," Paul Dean wrote in Eurogamer's Torchlight 2 preview. "While Diablo 3 remains grimy and grim, perhaps seeming more mature by being so, Torchlight 2 simply celebrates its colourful excess."

After the bitter disappointment of Diablo III this and Path of Exile will satisfy my ARPG needs.

Bump to announce that for those of you who have pre-ordered via Steam, you can now pre-load the game. Restart Steam if you can't see it.

So will this unlock around midnight tomorrow? Or can I expect to get it thursday morning?

Either way I'm glad the wait is almost over. Loved what I played of the beta so getting my teeth into the full version is rather exciting.

I'll be up for some co-op shenanigans of course. :D

It looks like it's going to be released around Standard Steam Update Time (i.e. 6pm BST).

Is that 6pm tomorrow ( :D ) or Thursday ( :( ).

My heart wants it to be tomorrow, but my head screams Thursday.
