Eurogamer have decided that these figurines are copying Amiibo, instead of just being a collection of figurines based on popular characters like, you know, every other collectable figurine ever released. :fp:

Eurogamer is strawberry floating dire at times with headlines and cover stories that wouldn't be out of place in the tabloids.

This. I also think it represents the more embarrassing side of gaming and reinforces the general public's view of consoles being toys.

+1 to Bloodborne hunter being only one which would tempt me. But if I was going to get something like that then I'd rather opt for MaxFactory's Figma Hunter. It's pricier, and no longer available for pre-order, but it's larger and poseable.

I have a few pieces of gaming related merch dotted around the house. A Hollywood Hogan POP figurine that came with a WWE game a few years ago just to make it look like I'm supporting a racist, a Tomb Raider 2 statue that makes it look like I can't move on from the 90s, and a knitted Sackboy Sony sent me for reasons I can't remember. I think it was a YouTube comp. A nice balance, I'm sure you'll agree.

I don't mind some of these statues, figurines etc. but it's finding space to display them all. And as I can't bear to part with my Lara Croft in a swimsuit statue, and refuse to have a house swamped with this stuff, I don't bother.

Of all the statues I've seen, none have been as impressive as Nemesis from Resident Evil 3. I can't remember what it was retailing for, maybe £200, but it looked amazing. It was big as well - maybe around 15-17 inches high.

From what I remember it was for subbing to their LBP channel, I got 2 by mistake and I'm sure I flogged 1 to Jiggerjay on here, still have the other boxed away upstairs. I have a Mass Effect Normandy ship model which I've had for about 6 years still unboxed because I don't have space for it :x Guess it's time I got a bigger glass desk for the computer :shifty:

Outside of amiibo, I don't have many gaming figures.... just three, I think. The best is the Big Daddy from the Bioshock Collector's Edition (Xbox 360) which I picked up from eBay; it's weighty, detailed and just superb. Then I have the Batman / Joker statue from Batman Arkham Origins Collector's Edition (Xbox 360) and the Powerloader from Aliens Colonial Marines Collector's Edition (PS3) ( :datass: ). I got these for around £13 each from Amazon; excellent deals.

All three of 'em reside in their boxes, though.

I've a few video game figurines in the games room, my favourite being a Kazumi from DoA that a friend bought me when he was holidaying in New York. Generally though, I don't collect them any more.

I got one of those free Sackboys too. I think you just had to subscribe to the channel on YouTube and PM them your name and address.

I don't care about it too much, for instance, a mate of mine wouldn't be seen dead playing his Switch in public but I don't give a monkeys playing it on the train home from work but I do think that apart from the fact it's all just tat, I guess as a 41 year old dude I can't see the benefit of having a figurine from a game I like? I'd be proper embarrassed if anyone seen me lug around a Big Daddy from Bioshock. ;)

Ooops

Bid Daddy sounds like a seedy website.

I can't resist a bit of plastic tat, got a big collection of Amiibo figures, plenty of Lego and a load of figures from different franchises. Some might consider it embarrassing but I don't really care, it's relegated to my own games room rather than all over the house and I like them.

A set of Sony figurines would be great but at £15 a pop with no in-game functionality these look a bit steep to me, NECA make a range of video game figures including some Sony franchises (Uncharted, God of War and Crash Bandicoot soon) and they're bigger, really well painted and detailed, fully articulated, come with all sorts of accessories etc. and cost around £25. which to me is far better value, I guess it depends what you want from them though.
