Hi, yes sorry, I landed safely on Sunday just around a hour later than planned, I had my first full day here yesterday and went to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, today is supposed to be the day when the storm hits and have been told to “hunker down” I have moved all the patio furniture into the garage and that’s all I can do really,

I want to say I’m having a wonderful time and that I’m so happy but the truth is I feel pretty terrible, I can’t bring myself to eat much (not a bad thing I need to lose weight) I’m not sleeping very well and regretting booking for so long, I don’t want to keep going on about it but I’m missing him so much, it’s 7 am and I’m sat up in bed crying, the idea was I would get here and be like “oh look how my life can be without him, I can go on holiday to great places, do what I like and be free” but I would rather be sat on the settee with him watching tv, I’m fighting every urge to contact him, I also know that if I went back I would regret it that I’m remembering the good times when there was good times but also bad times, it’s the bad times that forced me into this situation,

Writing all that has helped, I thinking about how life would have been if I didn’t do this,

Anyway here’s the villa

Stick with it mate. It's hard now but it will be worse if you go back. You'll regret it more. That gaff looks great. Once the storm passes you'll have a great time. Resist the temptation to take a huge step backwards. You deserve better.

If this was a movie, critics would criticise the storm for being far too obvious a metaphor. Yet here it is happening in real life!

The storm will pass, and things will get better

It's all part of letting go, mate. Take it easy.

To be honest, going on holiday immediately afterwards, and alone, may not have been the best move. It's good that you're not physically in any place that reminds you of him, but your mind is going to wander there. I'd try and le yourself he distracted but it's quite hard to switch off like that.

I know for my last break up I was the same. Didn't eat, struggled to sleep, constantly thinking. It's completely natural and not something to be ashamed of or a sign you made the wrong decision. It's your brain constantly trying to reset to "normal" mode and it'll be a while before you make a new "normal" without him.

When I had that breakup, I surrounded myself with friends as I didn't really want to be alone, as that's when the thoughts start up again. And this was also a breakup I wanted too, but your mind still keeps whirring.

One thing I will say is that time will absolutely heal it. You're basically grieving right now - effectively the "dead" relationship and loss of a love one - but time will pass and that passage of time will make it easier.

Like I said, I'd try and consciously distract goirself, even of it's all just a charade and forcing your mind on to other things, it might stick somewhat.

If contacting him is a problem, I'd strongly advocate deleting any contacts so there's no way you can get in touch. At the suggestion of my friends (I wanted to cling on) I basically put all my ex's stuff in a box and then threw that box away, as well as deleting her off all the various social media platforms and what not. Hard at first but absolutely easier in the long run. If you need to keep his contact details for whatever reason, why not email it a friend and say they are forbidden to give you it back until the holiday is over? Having him constantly only a message away isn't good for your brain and that new normal I mentioned. You need to wean yourself off contact.

Fair play Richard - what you done takes balls.

Whatever you feel towards your ex-partner will pass. That's a certainty.

Hope you enjoy your travels.

Definitely this, both metaphorically, and literally in regards to Dorian.

It'll take time to adjust, but the fact that you've rented the place for a decent amount of time will allow you to get used to things and let the dust settle, it'll also allow you to decide what your next steps will be once it's time to leave.

Nice villa by the way too.

If you find yourself back at Epcot at any point, I urge you to try Teppan Edo at the Japan pavillion. Their teppanyaki is delicious, and the matcha cake made me feel good in my special place.

I might try it, I have never really had Japanese food before, I ended up being really adventurous in Epcot and had fish and chips

I went to Universal Studios yesterday, Vermilion would have loved it (a lot of Harry Potter)
