The music is brilliant. It really has thrown something else into the mix. But I wasn't a fan of The Wire. Too slow and felt like nothing ever happened. I know some people love it for the complexities and the many different levels it operated on, but I stopped after getting to season three because I was bored to tears.
The likes of Mad Men and The Sopranos have that same level of intrigue, mystery, wonderfully crafted storytelling and freeze-frame capture of an era but with far more purpose and drive, in my eyes. I suppose I just watch shows to be entertained and gripped rather than battering scenes around my head trying to remember who said what because I couldn't understand what they were saying and why nothing seems to have changed. I guess I just like an old-fashioned story, which Simon rarely serves up. I loved Generation Kill but that may be because it was far shorter and driven to a conclusion/narrative we all loosely knew.

Another good ep, I laughed a few times including the end.

I will say that I really would like to punch Davis, he is a total knob.

Watched episode 2 last night. Much better than the first, I thought. It's weird seeing Freeman without facial hair. He just looks so different and weird.

Still an excellent episode, Goodman looking out for paedo signs during the piano lesson was a really good touch

I love John Goodman, strawberry floating brilliant this week.

Seems that the series has already been picked up for a second season which is good news.

Best episode yet, characters really seemed to develop some, I'm getting comfortable with them now and starting to identify with them.

I stand by the fact that I think it lacks a sort of central plot driving it forward but that was less of a concern this week as there seemed lots going despite most of it seeming rather inconsequential.

Good stuff :)

Decent episode this week, nothing special.

Any chance anyone could gif the satellite image of the storm and it crashing through the house in the opening titles, it was about 2:04-2:09 this week.

More people would watch it if they badly covered pop songs, instead of singing their own amazing stuff.

I'm waiting for the season to finish so I can watch it all close together. If it's like The Wire then one episode a week is like torture.

Also, I've got a backlog of stuff to watch at the moment but once 24 and Lost finish in a couple of weeks I should begin to catch up.
