Really enjoyed the most recent episode. Got a feeling, like the Wire before it, where the story gets bigger.

- The cop looks like he'll be playing a larger role and more discussion of crime that comes with the desperation.
- The developer cousin - the folks who aren't their for themselves, or charitable intent - but to make money.

Really looking forward to the rest of the season.

Just finished watching season 1 on Sky Atlantic & don't think I can wait for it to come back in the new year with season 2 already being shown in the US. It start slow & got better with each episode. Like a few people have mentioned, it looks like they set up som interesting angles for season 2.

I had to buy that theme song from iTunes. Best tv show theme out there right now.

A good opener which did well to re-establish the characters a year after I'd last seen them. Pleased to see Annie is still broken up with Sonny but Davis isn't much of an improvement.

Most intriguing is David Morse's cop character and the crime storyline which I'm looking forward to seeing develop.

It's still a wonderfully written, acted, and shot borefest.

Good episode again. What's going on with Freemon? He was acting really strange all episode. Lovin' his new do, though. Glad to see Sonny get robbed, the strawberry floating douchebag  Annie and Davis are so cute together.

All of what Chalky said. It's interesting that a lot of the characters who were on the up/really positive last season are on the downward curve - while others are seeing some good.

Davis is such a good character.

Good to see him with some facial again alright, the way it should be.

I like how they're exploring the darker side of the city this season, looking forward to seeing how the rise in crime affects more of the characters down the line. I suspect someone will be shot dead by a group of hoodlums by season's end.

Ladonna

Excellent portrayal of an experience that goes beyond traumatic. I'd go so far as to say it's probably the most harrowing representation of a rape I've seen in many, many years. Not so much in the event itself, but the slowly unfolding horror that comes afterwards, both in the hospital and at home.

Any ideas on how the ratings for the second season are looking?

2x01- 0.61 million
2x02 0.56 million

Treme's on HBO though which is less ratings focused than network TV so it might get a season 3.

Treme has reportedly been renewed for a third season by HBO.

According to Deadline, the drama has been picked up again despite receiving lower ratings for its recent second season premiere than its launch last year.

Treme, which comes from The Wire's David Simon and Eric Overmyer, follows the residents of New Orleans as the city deals with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The second season premiered in the US last month, while the first season recently finished airing in the UK on Sky Atlantic. The cast includes Khandi Alexander, Melissa Leo, Wendell Pierce and Clarke Peters.

Jon Seda joined the show for the second season, while David Morse was promoted to a series regular.

The current season of Treme airs on Sundays at 10pm on HBO.
