It dropped a little bit towards the end of the week as a typhoon approached. It barely registered in terms of wind and rain though, so it's felt a lot hotter today again. It's a few degrees cooler than last week but, but that still leaves highs of 37 or so. This is probably the hottest summer in my time here.
I must admit, and I don't want to put you all on a downer, but I wouldn't want to do the tourist stuff at this time of year. It's just too hot to be outside. There's no real respite in the shade as it's humid.
Saying that, I did do, when some friends came over in mid July three years ago. If I had to tell people on month out of the 12 not to come here though, it'd be August. The time around the Obon festival will be busy too, so if you're planning on doing anything between about the 14th-20th I would make reservations.
I'm coming over specifically for a wrestling event and because I'm meeting my brother who is on his way home from Oz. So, I didn't really get a choice, but to be fair, we're just going to hang out and chill mostly, no arduous tourist trips.
I went in March last year, and I'd say that was perfect.
