So hyped for this, looks fantastic.

Apart from the name, I've been hearing good things about this.

Just started watching and judging by the crime scene I'm going to say the murderer is Mads Mikkelsen.

Well, I might be hooked already. The characters already feel three-dimensional and the non-linear narrative gives a little edge to the storytelling that I felt Hannibal missed. Certainly the premise and the start are intriguing. I appreaciate how many actors from The Wire have made it into the cast as well.

That was a very good start to a series. This is a must watch now for me. Hell even Harrelson wasn't annoying in this either.

Great start, Emmy nominations already in the bag.

Already wondering who they'll get for next season though.

Despite competition from the Golden Globes, new drama True Detective took in 2.3 million viewers during its inaugural telecast. That's the biggest HBO premiere since Boardwalk Empire in 2010.

Really enjoyed that first episode. I'm already playing "spot the serial killer", but while I have a couple of suspects I have absolutely no basis on which to back it up beyond "They look a bit dodgy" or just plain old "I'm gonna say it's him".

I'll be interested to see where they take it. McConaughey was fantastic as well.

Superb start. I have a feeling this is going to be incredible once it really gets going.

Also, those opening credits.

That was a strawberry floating incredible first episode and McConaghy was superb. Can see this being one of my top 5 shows of the years if it keeps up the quality.

Watching this tonight, SUPER excited. This is a only 1 season deal though right?

I think it may be different actors and storyline per season. Just hope they keep the high quality of actors throughout.

Best performance I've ever seen from McConaughey, I am very impressed. The music kicking in at the end was great too.

Yep American Horror Story style but hopefully better than that.

I think I'm going to have to give this a watch.
