Certainly living up to its promise so far. Though I did just spend a while not knowing how to progress, until I spotted something that in hindsight was obvious.

Couldn’t find the key to the old house.

Totally facepalmed myself when I found it, but in one way the game was at fault.

I had gone off and explored somewhere I guess I wasn’t really meant to go to yet, and encountered one of the green-clad rat things, and realised they are deadly with my current kit. So when I saw the one that I later realised was guarding the key I needed, I avoided it entirely.

Glad I can leave the game knowing I have a route to continue tomorrow.

Any word on a switch version?

Jealous of those getting to play this. Looks superb and reviews are glowing.

I love the way you find pages of the traditional-style instruction manual as you play the game. A very natural-feeling way of introducing the game's mechanics (and clever hints, and map!) without obtrusive tutorial pop-ups.

Jealous folk - remember that this is on Cloud Game Pass as well so if you really want to give it a try then that option is available!

I'm tempted, but this looks like a game that will feel really nice on Switch, and it's a timed exclusive. I'll hold out for now.

I’ve not read the reviews, but I think one of the headlines said it’s meant to be quite challenging, in a good way. I played it for a couple of hours and didn’t encounter anything too difficult (except, in a Souls-like way, when I strayed into a tough area too early). That’s not to say it’s Souls-hard. There’s just an item I haven’t got yet that will definitely help.

You do have to pay attention though. There are clues, but it doesn’t stick them up in lights.

(I actually did try this for a short while earlier on my phone as my son was using the TV. The music isn’t what I was expecting! Getting Fez vibes from it really)

The touch controls are bad, yeah. You basically can’t use the lock on unless you have 4 thumbs

The viewing distance makes a big difference though, playing at distance on a TV can be pretty comparable to a smaller screen but up close.
