I did it on my second attempt, but it was damn close. The decoy really helped at the start, as I had 3 equipped, but I didn't make very good use of them and missed a lot of damage opportunities, but it DID allow me to study the patterns without so much panic. Going for the weak spot at the back helped when I could get to it.

Ah, I never thought to use the decoys! That explains why I could never reach!

I was mostly using the bombs and the dagger, to very little effect. :slol:

Librarian down on the second try too, no decoys this time and it was pretty easy really as the patterns were flagged nice and early.

I'm in the quarry now.

All right, nobody likes a show-off. :capnscotty:

Have you managed to find the item that lets you traverse that area safely?

I don't think so, assuming you're referring to losing health from being too close to those broken blocks.. I've got quite a few cards from the wells that I've not tried put yet, so I'll see if one of those does anything.

Yeah, that's what I mean. The effects of those items are quite vague, but it should be pretty clear if you've got the right one.

I haven't found it yet, so I'm gonna have to do a bit more rummaging around, because strawberry float going in without it. :dread:

Finished it, loved it, 9/10 from me. Turned on no kill for the final fight though, didn't want to spoil my enjoyment. Got 9 pages left & a few heroes to pray at though in my retry.

I went to the area you mentioned before I went to the east temple and I was getting strawberry floated and couldn't work out why. Turns out I didn't pay enough attention to one of the mechanics and it meant I never found the path I was meant to go. Finding that area was interesting though, I accidentally walked down a path I didn't know was there just running into walls.

I beat the third boss today, struggled but not nearly as much as boss number two.

My only real complaint about this game is the music isn't nearly as good as the music in 2D zelda games. None of it is really memorable and it doesn't really make me feel like I'm out on an adventure. It's still damn good, but so far I've not really felt like it's fit the mood of the game.

Found my way through the quarry eventually, and foolishly decided to press on for a few minutes before stopping for the evening, only to then end up in the secret vault fighting a load of tough enemies. Stumbled upon the boss, and somehow managed to beat that on my second go. Had no health items left and was on what must have been a pixel of health left :dread:

Unlocked the big gold door near the starting area, places the keys and got a "now what?" Achievement.. That's where I stopped playing, maybe 45 minutes after I originally intended

And Qikz I agree on the music, it's alright, but kind of ambient rather than memorable.

strawberry float the strawberry floating Librarian

I beat him after about 6-7 tries, it should've happened sooner but he kept flying around endlessly never giving me a chance to hit him. Why put a boss like that in a game where your pretty much only decent damage output is a sword god damnit.

I beat the boss you mention here but it took me strawberry floating ages. I'm so bad at fighting the bosses and they just frustrate me rather than let me have fun.

I did exactly what you did, although I'd been in that area before. I did the thing you mentioned and now I've got exactly 0 idea of what I need to do or where I need to go. I keep finding chests in areas that I can't get to so I'm really confused.

I stumbled on where to go totally by accident last night. Hint: go to the warp area.

Be warned, going there moves the game in to being locked on a certain path, which is annoying seeing as I'm now stuck in a boss rush of sorts with it being my barrier to progression with no way back.

Edit: holy crap I just did it without taking a single hit

I guess I should look around the overworld more, because I can't find my way back to the starting area or the eastern forest for some reason. Only thing is all the chests I've been finding I can't even get to for some reason.

You get something else to allow you to get to them. Also some can be accessed by really well hidden paths.

Is that before you went to where you are now?

I obviously got the grapple as I needed that to get to the vault, but there's chests on little islands as if I get a jump item but I can't find it anywhere.

You get something to allow you to get the isolated ones where I am now.

This game (from what I can make out because of redaction) sounds great. I will probably finish GotG tonight, so this should get a play over the weekend.

You do, and it's not nearly as tough as I first imagined. Moves you nicely in to a clear end game clear up scenario too.
