Yorkshire pudding is the best part of any and all roasts, and the main reason all the slagging off of British cuisine is thoroughly undeserved.

Also: I don’t eat beef any more, but I agree with Victor that it’s the worst roast, at least in most pubs I went to. Had it done well (not well done) at home. (A close second is the kind of roast chicken that’s half tendons and takes fifteen minutes to extricate the meat from.)

Pigs in blankets are excellent, but we don’t have them as a side. We have them as a kind of mini-meal prior to the main event of Christmas dinner. (Also I have them whenever I can starting, er, yesterday. :shifty: )

I prefer having chicken to Turkey but it's okay. But for Christmas I'd rather have Beef.

Honestly no idea, sausages are awesome, bacon is great, but bacon wrapped round a sausage just is horrid. It might be that I've only ever had crap quality ones and if I got some super decent grade ones or made them it would be different, but I dunno.

It doesn't help that the bacon is oven cooked and I'm not a fan of bacon done in the oven.

Exactly. People who only have Yorkshire's with beef are insane. They go with everything.

My husband takes Yorkshire puddings with any meal that has gravy. Sausage and mash tonight so defo make an appearance. Also pigs in blankets are frequented in my house year round, except we tend to go quality chipolita sausage wrapped with streaky rather than they tiny Richmond-esque porkers bought ready made in packets.

Also turkey is lovely. Get that gooseberry fool in a stir fry.
