PostTwitch and Discord integration

Currently, we show an icon for online Mumble users. This is often 0 and never more than about 6 -- most of whom, it turns out, aren't actually active forum users (not that I mind!). Mumble is, for better or worse - well, I think for worse... - no longer a real-time chat program of choice. We'll keep running it as a legacy service, but we need to recommend people switch to Discord.

Furthermore, the spirit of Mumble was to allow our users to connect in real time and experience games together, and that is also now achieved (at least in part) by GRcade's thriving Twitch community.

We should write a new custom widget to embed our Discord server stats (how many online users; how many voice channel users).

We should write a new custom widget to show the GRcade Twitch network. Pedz is currently doing a great job setting up auto-host on the network channel for GRcade users, so it should suffice to advertise the network channel, which can forward people on to individual streams.

(Thanks Pedz!)

Interested to hear if everyone feels this is a step in the right direction. Beyond that, users with some basic coding experience: We need to research the best way to do this and then implement it. All thoughts welcome!

Is there a way to get something like the mumble thing on the homepage but for Twitch? I wouldn't say have something for everyone's channel, but at least the Grcadeuk one. Or if you can get one that cycles through all the GRcade peeps that'd be cool too.

Or a Twitch symbol that shows someone is online and you click it and a drop down list of those online will show?

With Twitch "hosting" where one channel can host others, we could just advertise the GRcade channel and have it host the twitchers.

Yeah, Pedz set that up yesterday. Only issue is, I don't know if a channel is classed as 'online' if it's hosting another. That could prove tricky for any kind of integration.

No, the channel hosting is classed as offline and if someone is watching via the GRcade channel and clicks follow they will follow the hosted channel and not GRcade. It only really benefits the hosted channel in all honesty. Like it would be a benefit if people hosted the GRcadeUK, but while looking yesterday (I think) only my own channel auto hosts GRcades.

After bringing it up yesterday, I did add it to mine (for my 9 followers  ). I think it would certainly help if anyone repaid the favour and hosted the GRcade channel.
