I don't think they really need it.

I usually go into creative and sub to a talented artist or musician.

To be fair I have no idea what I would give my $2.50 to as I don't really follow anything/anyone on Twitch - it would probably just end up going to some "tits for views" streamers as those are the only ones I've ever seen mentioned anywhere!

Pedz (P3DZ on Twitch) is one of the GRcadians who streams regularly; I also watch The Watching Artist (MattKing85) and Jazzem (Jazzem), too. Earfolds (Earfolds) has recently started streaming as well.

Edit: I believe that with the "free" Twitch sub you have to re-do the sub each month - even if you choose to continue issuing it to the same channel.

There has been a GR channel for ages- https://www.twitch.tv/grcadeuk But it hardly gets used anymore as very few bothered to tune in. At the mo its basically Devlins Mario Maker competition channel.

Pedz is probably the most active streamer on the forum and he was doing retro streams on the channel but just decided to focus on his own one because of the lack of people interacting.

There already is but its much more low key and small scale. You can set it so that either anyone, your friends or you have to send invites to watch you play whatever you're playing.

I use my twitch Prime free sub on one of the people in the stream team I'm in.

Skype would work yeah with a screen capture running over the group to capture everyones video and audio, it would eliminate lag and things and should do the trick.

Yeah, but the Steam service is very different to what twitch does. I kind of meant bulk it out to a more public facing thing where people can try and earn a living playing games live.

Yeah, I feel kinda bad about not doing stuff on the GRcade channel, but it was just me streaming on there for about a year The channel was even invited to be an affiliate, but it never got sorted. I'd stream on there again if we could get a schedule going. Like we had Retro Monday and MK8 with me on Monday, Cheeky with Mario Maker on Tuesday and Thursday, Me or Dragon would do Splatoon on Wednesday, Friday I or Dragon would do MK8 200cc. Then you had others who would do things.
