From the gameplay shown (and now hearing from the creative director) I'm on board with this in regards to the open-world nature of it. Bombing across planets on speeders, exploring outposts/towns/cities, dogfighting in space - all that looks pretty good, but for me this will all hinge on how they handle progression.

I'll just copy my thoughts in from the general Ubisoft thread for tonights show,

Caught the Star Wars part at the end, as soon as the combat kicked in it had a very AC feel to to, the HUD at the top looked like it had been taken straight from it as well..... It looked good though, time will tell whether the problems (in my opinion at least) with the current AC format carry over to this or not, in that it just becomes an almost endless map checking, tick box exercise. I do like that there seems to be a choice system of sorts in there, although I can't see that choice having much impact in the long run as the central plot of the game seems to revolve around you becoming massively wanted at some point?

Looked better than I thought though, so kind of hopeful going forward, definitely one to keep an eye on.

Combat looked average but I like the look of it. I hope the taking off into space bits are seamless, but I think it wont.

Getting a bit concerned that Ubisoft games are really heavily starting to merge so many different styles of game that they are all merging into one. We all joked about towers, but now every game is starting to look like a reskin. So my worry is that this won't feel new or fresh by the time it comes out.

Wasn't hugely thrilled with the opening bit with all the combat, but then when it showed the town and the conversations, I got a lot more interested. I know it's not trying to style itself as an immserive sim, but I really want something closer to that, as opposed to the very combat focused Jedi games and Force Unleashed games over the last couple of gens.

I think this looks great.

I don't really.play Ubisoft games anymore (only Mario x Rabbids in recent years) so if they're using the standard Ubisoft open world tropes that isn't going to bother me so much.

Proper Bad Batch vibes from the broker, even down the husky voice  Really hope this turns out good. If it's set in that Shadows of the Empire-era they could bring the Outrider back into the canon :datass:

Wonder if you'll get to pick if you align with the rebels or the imperials :slol:

Thread title could use an update. :)

I think that the game looks good so far, from the limited view we've had of it, but that was a showcase piece of gameplay, so, cautious optimism right now.

The worlds as shown look good, more expansive than I was expecting. The sidekick is adorable, and the Commando Droid is a nice touch, but its voice doesn't seem Droidy enough. Combat looks satisfying enough, really all the core features the video shows off look at least decent.

I don't know if it's just me, but the protagonist has kind of a Doctor Aphra-esque vibe to her, albeit much less of an amoral sociopath. Makes me want an Aphra game.

It'll be cool to finally get that galactic underworld game we've been wanting for so long. If you're going to make a new thing in such a well trodden period of Star Wars history, you have to tell a unique story, and the criminal underworld is definitely an area that holds promise in that regard.

I hate that "early access" is now a thing for most "AAA" games. It's not early at all; publishers simply delay access if the customer is "only" paying £70 rather than £100. And, as we know with "AAA" games, that "early" access often just means that you're a beta tester for those first few days.

Ubisoft games drop in price ridiculously quickly, even digitally. Well worth waiting for a bargain. Looks like it would be a nice Christmas holidays game too.

Wish my image sig would work

Well, the comments are exactly what I was expecting. "Don't preorder Ubisoft games" in many grammatical styles.

Nice to see some more on this, even if it's stuff we kinda already knew about the story. Hopefully there's more to come soon.

Looks pretty good.

I'll wait for it to come out and then wait another 12 months for it to be fully patched before playing it

It appears that - as with Ubisoft's recent Avatar game - disc versions of Star Wars Outlaws will require an online check to install the game.

Pretty sure this is from Massive, the team behind The Division, so I'll be interested in seeing what they do with it.

Doesn't look like a Star Wars version of that from the story trailer, but damn that's a game I want to play.

Looks ok, doesn't look anything particularly special from what we've seen yet though. Definitely one to wait for a sale on early next year.

The little bit of snow towards the end of the trailer looked like it had been taken straight out of The Division.
