None. They’ve had one swathe of resignations so Yves can learn from his mistakes and hide harassment better in future.

Good job I don’t care about Star Wars! (Still gutted about Scott Pilgrim.)

Immatirials Farriz rousing has Ubisoft towers in the form of god statues, but to see the icons covering the map you need to scan for them in first person, which I can see whatever this ends up being using the binocular thing like uses in star wars to look at the banthas.

Please be a mandalorian game.

A fully fledged Mandalorian game would be perfect

Yeah I think there is a path to redemption for Ubisoft, but there is a hell of a long way to go yet.

They’ve got to show that they’re willing to go on that path first. So far we’ve had people resigning (not being kicked out, resigning) and Yves’ mealy-mouthed non-apology bullshit. Culture change needs to come from the top.

Were they not "walk before you are pushed" situations? I believe a couple of people were fired too (like the former director of Assassin's Creed Valhalla).

Yves also unambiguously apologised. The sincerity can of course be questioned (especially given the timing and presentation of the apology) but the statement is clear.

Maybe some of them were fired. I believe (citation needed - this is Jim Sterling, not the most impartial of witnesses) that the ones who walked are allowed to keep their stock options and so continue to profit from the company.

I don’t agree that what Yves did was unambiguously apologise. He talked around the issue: ‘This summer, we learned that certain Ubisoft employees did not uphold our company’s values, and that our systems failed to protect the victims of their behaviour.’ Nowhere in there is it mentioned what they did. ‘Didn’t uphold values’ ferchrissake. He also timed it atrociously as you say. I’ll agree that it’s not a Priti Patel non-apology, but that’s all the goodwill I’ll give him. I don’t agree that it’s a clear statement at all.

There’s also the fact that he presided over a company where this was allowed to flourish. He should have been a damn sight more contrite than he was as a result.

I’ll be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if at some time this year, unprompted, he brings it up and what the company’s done to improve things. So far I’ve seen a whole lot of nothing, and many of the people to blame parachute merrily out.

"I am truly sorry to everyone who was hurt." is a pretty unambiguous apology. He definitely talked around referring to any specific people/incidents/allegations though as you say. There were promises and commitments made in his statement like expanding their graduate programs to increase diversity in the company and industry or donating to certain causes but like you I am not aware of any follow up to this. Hopefully that's what we'll see.

I dunno, I think for it to be truly unambiguous he has to say unambiguously what they were hurt by! Yes he did the usual hand-waving and saying they’d do better, and I think there was one concrete commitment of donating $1m to some worthy cause - which given the size of UbiSoft doesn’t feel like a lot.

I hope he does follow up, UbiSoft remains one of my favourite 3P developers from a pure games perspective. I doubt he will. :|

I would love to see a Mandalorian game, because it would make a change from every game being Jedi this and Force that. You could play Bo Katan, during the days of the Purge, but Paz Vizla (heavy weapons Mando) after Mando S1 would be really cool too.

More likely you'd play an original character who the story writers can mold as they see fit, but you'd be interacting with the big dogs.

Be damn cool if you could play a bounty hunter in the early days of the Empire, interacting with Fett, Bossk, IG-88, Aurra Sing, Embo, etc. Like a dark side Star Wars Assassin's Creed type game.

Wonder if it'll include a rape mini game? I guess that'll be if they make a Ubisoft Simulator.

A fully open-world Star Wars game, in theory, is very enticing to me so I'm hoping Ubisoft Massive deliver a quality game here. Although if it leans into the RPG makeup of The Division, I might be put off by it.

Nevertheless excited to potentially seeing more during Ubisoft's stream tomorrow.

It will be another entry in the "Ubisoft Game open world with rpg elements and gear grinding" design singularity, wearing Star Wars as a mask.

After having gotten fed up with Valhalla towards the end, this is what has me worried, that’ll it’ll be a modern AC game but with a Star Wars coat of paint.

And Glup Shitto will turn up a cutscene.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
