A group of amateur writers have collaborated to bring us match reports from a fictional European Championships. Sure, it's no replacement for the real thing, but the reports are entertaining to read, and it should be fun to follow as the tournament progresses.

So far, in Group D England and Scotland have both played out 2-2 draws, while Wales and Ireland both won their opening matches, as have Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain. France and Germany have drawn (also 2-2), and the holders Portugal have been humbled by the mighty Iceland.

It's all very believable (apart from some of the squad numbering...)

I mean, there has to be other life out there but I don't think aliens have visited Earth in spaceships, this year or otherwise

I missed this thread when you first posted it but looking forward to reading some of the match reports. I had tickets for Wales's first two games, sounds like I missed a classic with the 3-3 against Turkey. Got a real chance of two consecutive semi-finals by the looks of things

Starting reading the first match report for Wales and Giggs apparently gave a team talk referencing the Principality Stadium as our home ground, I don't think he's that dull

Edit: Apparently the Welsh fans are singing Sweet Caroline and Dan James is playing lone striker. Who wrote this

I think they've been... creative in their interpretation of possible outcomes from the playoffs.

Fair point! Can't say that I recall it being sung at any of the Wales games I've been to but having looked it's even on the Welsh Football Spotify playlist so guess I was wrong on this one.
