Animal Crossing would have been in the top 3 without a doubt if digital sales were included. It was the lockdown game.

I'm firmly in the digital download camp. Putting in a disc / cartridge feels decidedly outdated these days.

Indeed. I suspect quite a few Nintendo games would've popped up in the top ten if digital sales were included - Luigi's Mansion 3 was another one that did gangbusters.

Can't imagine we will see a new Nintendo console or Switch iteration any time soon, then. Are these figures consistent with other parts of the world?

Pretty much. The only real difference is that in Japan the XSS|XSX only sold about 50 units :lol:

100%. Especially when you look at the size of switch hardware sales.

I wonder why Nintendo doesn’t release digital sales. Surely at least 3rd party developers would want any successful sales on the switch being made public.

3rd party developers will know their own sales and I assume can release them if they choose to
