No matter the context, the statement was just plain wrong. Who got the majority absolutely does matter, whatever the voting system.

OK since you're continuing to ignore the parts you cut out of my post I will type them again. With more words. Parliament does not proportionately represent the UK. It actually doesn't matter who proportionately gets the most votes in . In theory, someone could get the most seats without having the most votes (although it would be a close election if that happened). If the house of commons proportionately represented the whole of the UK, no one would care if the Tories/Labour or even strawberry floating UKIP got the biggest chunk and were in charge. The votes cast on our behalf would represent us and our vote wouldn't be thrown away because not enough people with the same views lived in the same part of the same town.

Why shouldn't they if they disagree with decisions? As long as they voted, they absolutely are allowed their opinion. This gooseberry fool absolutely matters. Just because you got everything you wanted, doesn't mean you get to laugh at those who didn't.

Hardly anyone here voted UKIP (I think) yet they want the voting system changed; I voted SNP who won out of FPTP and I want it changed. But yes, we're a bunch of bitches.

Yup, I voted Labour, who would actually have done virtually the same in both systems. Yet it's the way the millions who voted UKIP and Green have been shafted that makes me want PR.

If it was a Tory/UKIP coalition in control I'd like to see the reaction. UKIP policy is simply more radical, hard-line Conservative.

I don't feel strongly about the voting system either way but the fact the current system kept one fairly popular, bigoted party and another economically illiterate, scientifically naïve one away from any real decision making is probably a good thing.

I don't get how she doesn't see her own hypocrisy. Bleating on about a voice being heard, whilst before the election she basically campaigned on shutting out the voice of what always looked likely to be the biggest party in England.
