"At all costs," indeed.

What hardship you have suffered to help our country. And they say soldiers and nurses have it bad.

To be fair to Cal, it has cost him £10billion in unspecified cuts, as well as the right to adopt anytime within the next five years.

So the paucity of your argument is to resort to personal attacks and fantasy hashtags? Things are worse than I thought.

I don't think he's trying to start an argument. This isn't a DISC thread, I think he's just messing with you.

The lack of winkies is throwing people off, isn't it? Here, everybody take some of these, and use them liberally.

No, I was simply pointing out how overblown, pompous and downright preposterous you are. I was pointing this out because you really don't seem to realise, and I think you'd get people's backs up far less if you toned down the ridiculous rhetoric.

No doubt Ed Balls will get a by-election opportunity at some point, but surely the Labour party aren't stupid enough to set this into motion for at least a couple of years! Robinson's majority is only 4,500 with the Tories in second place, and if they parachute Balls in early, enough of those 7,000 UKIP votes from the General Election could easily go to the Tories in protest to defeat him again.

Wasn't there a referendum on it originally though? I'm not old enough to remember.

That's one more referendum than many other issues.

Talking of which, we have the internet at our disposal and we should be using it regularly to vote on these kind of things. Then we could save money and slim down parliament.

I don't know I'm starting to think that all politicians are out of touch with how the public think. Especially the Liberal Democrats how could they have not seen that wipe out coming from miles around.

'Starting'? They've been out of touch for a while.

The Lib Dems did well when they promised an alternative to the other two and had conviction. Their campaign this election was "Errr, how about things stay the same, yah?" Have a strawberry floating opinion. Have some policies, even if you will just ignore them and jump into bed with the Tories again. At least promise to do something rather than nothing.

No worries. It was quite critical to the post so I thought I'd best ask.

I don't think we'd vote to leave the EU either. But someone commented here last week that if we're a smart enough nation to assign so much of the popular vote to a party like UKIP, and considering that the LEAVE campaign will more likely be more impassioned and aggressive than the STAY campaign, a vote for exit could happen. :dread:

It will be interesting. I imagine a lot of the funding from bankers will back the leave campaign so they are not as regulated out of Europe.

I'm not sure how the media would vote though

I disagree, don't many large banks and corps base themselves in the UK so as to trade throughout the EU?

Yeah the banks will be pushing for the UK to stay in the EU.

HSBC have more or less said they'll move their headquarters out of the UK if it leaves the EU.

They won't be the only ones, either. Hopefully the threat of so many job losses will be enough to make people see sense and vote to stay.
