by That » Tue Oct 29, 2019 12:22 pm

The poll above is organised on an approximate left-right axis, with indeterminate options listed last. I've grouped parties in the same part of the political spectrum, and I tried to account for every party that I had personally heard of. (I apologise if anyone feels my groupings, orderings, or listing is biased: I haven't tried to be, but it's just a forum poll for fun at the end of the day, so don't take it too seriously!)

You can change your poll answer if you change your mind during the campaign. I will also run a separate "exit poll" on the day (as is now forum tradition!).

[EDIT: Ah, the Trade Unionist & Socialist Coalition and Left Unity are supporting Labour. Since they aren't running, I've updated the poll to take them out. I'll leave a placeholder there in case someone is planning to vote for one of the little communist parties or something.]

The General Election is likely to be on either the 9th or the 12th of December. This is the most important election in decades. Please vote.

The vast majority of us are centre or left-leaning, and support a People's Vote to stop Brexit. If that's you...

Check your tactical vote at tactical.vote

"First Past The Post" means some votes count for more than others. By voting for the candidate most likely to beat the Tories you maximise the impact of your vote.

It now seems certain that there will be a General Election in December. There is still some uncertainty as to the date, either the 9th or 12th. I'll update this OP once a date is decided.

Government may now seek to delay the legislation over disagreement of expansion of franchise:

Be careful - Exit poll on day results should be hidden until polling closes ;)

Can't wait to throw my vote away by voting for anyone other than the Tories in my Tory safe seat.

Sure! Last time around I wrote a mod for the forum software so I can hide the results until the evening: I'll do that again this time. :D

It turns out that when I moved house, despite crossing the border into a different council (which affected my local elections) I'm still just within the border of my old constituency. Which means I'll be voting Labour. It's a close seat and has swung in the past, so I can be hopeful.

Part of me is hoping for a Brexit Party surge to eat away at all the generationally safe Tory seats like mine (64% of the vote in 2017!) to give even a semblance of my choice mattering.

I live in a Labour safe seat. I'll reassess closer to the time, but I'll probably vote Green to, like, contribute slightly to their national percentage.

If Labour run a cracking campaign and tone down the anti-FOM rhetoric I could (quite easily) be convinced, but in my seat it doesn't matter all that much anyway!

Live in East Dunbartonshire so it's pretty safe as a Lib Dem or SNP seat, but as it's Jo Swinson's one it's probably pretty set for now. I'd prefer the SNP over Lib Dems, but I'm alright with either outcome overall.

This. I’ll check nearer the time but probably Green. Yay FPTP...

Voting Labour. Going to do everything in my power to talk my sister out of voting lib dem. Going to pray to god my other sister doesn't do another shy tory vote like she did in 2015.
I'm in the mindset that voting lib dem is essentially the same as voting tory so the less votes they see the better.

Will have to be Labour I think.

I'm moving to North Warwickshire Thursday and looking at the last few elections it was a seat Labour hoped to win back in 2015 but narrowly lost. Tories increased their share in 2017 but I suspect it'll be one Labour are again hoping to win.

Labour took our seat from the Tories in the last election but it was still relatively close so I'm going to be backing them.

I'd stick a vote behind Plaid or the Greens ordinarily but this time I just want to stop the Tories so it's going to be Labour.

Voting for the Brexit party to own the Cons.

I'm going to tactically vote for whomever is the most likely to beat a Tory in my now current seat which has been Tory since it was gerrymandered in the 80s. Hopefully it's Labour, but if its not I'll vote Greens because strawberry float the lib dems.

I've never voted before, so I will need genuine guidance on who to vote for to help:

Get rid of the tories.
Stop brexit.

Thanks!
