Last night I found out the current sitting Labour candidate for Torfaen lives about 30 seconds down the road from me. I've not once seen him canvas the area which seems odd. I'll be checking his garden for pumpkins on the way home before I make the final judgment call.

Canvassing is an odd thing. I don't mind a leaflet through the door, but generally if a party canvasser knocked on the door, I'd be slightly less likely to vote for them. I wouldn't be rude or anything, but generally I don't do door to door salesmen, religious canvassers etc and politics is no different.

Having said that, my constituency is Labour vs Tory so Labour would be able to get away with knocking on my door as I have to vote for them anyway!

I'd be the same tbh. I was thinking more that you'd like to make the people around you aware that you're there more than anything.

Edit: Moggy

Plot twist: bin bint to stand for MP

No but it was always going to be an issue and the fact they’re so obviously wrong footed and ill prepared to answer (whatever it is) is strawberry floating shocking - but not surprising given they constantly find new ways to demonstrate their gross incompetence. Add in the fact using them is Lab Party Policy (which Corbyn flip flips on being sacrosanct as it suits)

Damn the strawberry floating useless cretin and his ‘ironic follower that curse the country with perpetual uselesslness.

See magic unicorn Brexit is back in play now with somehow splitting the four freedoms. :fp:

What does this actually mean? Is it a way of making sure the racists leave the tory seats alone and only take from Labour?

Taking Lab votes in areas where they’d never vote Tory is tactically smart. Definitely a behind the scenes deal

Lots of Lab leavers would never, or have strong strong reluctance, to ever vote Tory for any reason.

He’s targeting that vote in seats where Lan has/could/is likel to win and the loss of those numbers could lose Lab the seat to Tories even if BXP doesn’t win. He’s setting up a ‘spoiler’ campaign basically

It’s not a sure thing but it’s a savy move to get what he wants.

My dad told me last night he will vote for the Tories as he's desperate to get out of Europe. The banana split is disabled and has had his benefits taken away from him by these bastards. He's the biggest idiot ever. I have told him so many times about how Brexit is pointless as it's an answer to issues that basically don't exist. All he ever says is that we were better off before we entered into it. I strawberry floating despair.

Didn't expect it initially but there's been a lot of pressure on Farage recently to relent and only focus on the Non tory seats. Very hard to see anything but a Tory Majority now.

If people get behind tactical voting I think there's still a chance. The problem is that a lot of the other parties supporters seem to hate the other party so I can't see it happening.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.
