Most of the content on Chaturbate appears to be emanating from Eastern European, South American and Asian studios and brothel houses, Moggers is probably on there right now asking how he can order a few in.

(As in Rees, not our one)

There seem to be a load of questions that aren't being answered by the news. Mainly what are the penalties for bypassing the block? If somebody uses a VPN and then is caught watching porn without going through the correct system, what happens? Do they get a fine, have to go to court etc or does nothing happen? Are there any plans to go further with this legislation?

My understanding is that the requirement is on porn sites to have a system in place, but there isn't any actual onus on the public to use the system.

You're probably right, although the government has already said it's going to start looking at sites with less than 1/3 porn after this comes into effect. How long before they make the system harsher, this isn't the first step in the web blocking game?

I would love it if AgeID ran at a huge loss and tanked the sites that implemented it because literally no-one used it. Unfortunately it's likely most users won't know or care about the potential consequences and will just go along with it.

Sadly I think that I’ll be the case, it’s like when they said they would log all web usage many normal folk just went “oh that’s gooseberry fool” and moved on, they don’t see what it leads to just that it is some small infringement of privacy but it’s probab for the best then the next one is the same forgetting it all adds up to having no privacy.

He is a Tory, it is going to some sick as strawberry float gooseberry fool he is into.

I’m not sure he has the imagination to think of the really sick stuff. Although he probably looks up “game fillies” and gets some horse filth.

Tangentially related:

Social media firms could be banned if they fail to remove harmful content, the health secretary has warned.

Speaking on the BBC's Andrew Marr show, Matt Hancock said: "If we think they need to do things they are refusing to do, then we can and we must legislate."

But he added: "It's not where I'd like to end up."

The minister earlier called on social media giants to "purge" material promoting self-harm and suicide in the wake of links to a teenager's suicide.

Molly Russell, 14, took her own life in 2017 after viewing disturbing content about suicide on social media.

Speaking to the BBC, her father said he believed Instagram "helped kill my daughter".

Mr Russell also criticised the online scrapbook Pinterest, telling the Sunday Times: "Pinterest has a huge amount to answer for."

Instagram responded by saying it works with expert groups who advise them on the "complex and nuanced" issues of mental health and self-harm.

It'll be interesting to see what the internet is like in 15 years. So much content is going to be banned.

Tangentially related sibling porn is my favourite taboo niche. :shifty:

Adults proving they’re adults is definitely going to solve the abusive behaviour of social media users, nice one Parliament.

I was rather hoping it would be something similar to what's seen in Ghost in the Shell, but it seems that dream is to be dashed.
