This is strawberry floating mental.

All they are going to achieve is getting 3/4 of the country onto VPNs. :fp:

There is a small sliver of hope here. Maybe there will be a scandal in which hundreds of thousands of people's porn preferences will be published linked to their names, and maybe that will be the push that gets even ordinary, non-nerdy people interested in Internet privacy. Maybe VPNs will become trendy and fashionable and maybe the whole country will browse the net via Finland this time next year.

I don't think it's likely but it's about the last chance for subverting mass surveillance. If people don't wake up now then the Tories will have won and we will probably won't get another chance to reverse it.

Didn't a lot of VPN providers announce a large jump in business when this stuff first came up?

:o

The Conservatives are really a party of privacy and this is just an act to get people to sign up for VPNs and use other such encryption.

Tor-ies

Mind blown

The most disgusting part about this is that MindGeek owns pornbay. They're hosting the content the government finds unacceptable (lol) and the solution to this is to hand them the personal details of everyone who wants to access it.

That was a thing when i was a kid, why did people always seem to leave their porno mags in hedges?

That said, i was once walking home from town (i was around 10 years old) and found a slide on the ground with a porno pic in it, then i found another, and another, and another. They were scattered all along the pavement for quite some distance. I'm amazed i survived when i made it to the end as i was half expecting to be lured into something horrible.

I don't really see any other solution being much better. I mean would you want the government sitting on all that information?

I tend to think of those people like old wizards imparting knowledge to a younger generation. Passing on the dance of the claw and sausage.

Finding those magazines was the best feeling ever.

Just going to have to consume all the porn before it's banned.

Waterlow Park, 1998, Reader's Wives :datass:

When some kid in school split a deck of porno playing cards with the class was always good too.

I think they or PIA are the usual recommendations.

PIA is the one I use, it's always been extremely reliable. NordVPN is also highly recommended.

Some VPNs do store user activity which is quite worrying.

They'll take my porn from "my cold dead hands".

You'd have to be so trusting / stupid to sign up to AgeID. Surely not all sites will be affected?
