That long?

Sounds like Putin will need to break out the novichok again if that happens.

Apparently Wagner's entire command staff, including right hand man Utin, were on the plane...

In an interesting twist though apparently there was a second, following, plane which supposedly turned around and landed at Moscow. Wonder who was on that one?

I wonder if the conspiracy theorists will be claiming that this really was an accident?

How do you get to be in a position like Prigozhin was in, and still believe things Putin says? And not see an aborted rebellion as your death sentence?

strawberry floating idiot. Only way he was making it out alive was by following through on his coup attempt.

He was on the passenger list. Doesn’t mean he was on the plane. Good cover for him to disappear, if everyone thinks Putin has had him killed.

It would certainly be a win win situation, as Putin gets to look like a tough bastard, while Prigozhin could vanish into obscurity.

strawberry floating hell!

Zelensky, talking to reporters:
When Ukraine appealed to the countries of the world regarding planes, we did not mean this.

But this in some way will definitely help.

Ukraine conducted an amphibious landing in western Crimea last night, the first such special operation in the Russian occupied territory.

It's such a shame that the longer this drags on, the less chance they have of winning it.

The number of losses for amount of regained ground is so tragic. This is a war without end now.

Ukraine loses their best troops too on the counter attack whilst Russia just loses scumbags released from prison that aren't expected to survive 6 months (when their unconditional discharge kicks in).

What does a Ukrainian win look like?

Whilst losing territory would be very frustrating, if the outcome was the Ukrainian lands that remained were given entry to NATO and a fast track entry to the EU, I'd call that a huge win.

If that was combined with pre Feb 2022 boundaries or even pre 2014 boundaries that would be incredible but may only be possible if Russia collapses or the Russian army collapses in spectacular fashion. If neither are likely any time soon, would winning the peace (NATO and EU) be better than winning the war but at an even greater loss of life?

Winning the peace in an unsatisfying Korean style armistice isn't a total victory but it's a win that has sustainability as it prevents any further Russian escalation.

It seems we did it again. We killed Prigozhin. We seem to get a lot of bang for the buck with our intelligence services. Maybe we should do Empire 2: Empire harder.

Indeed. From a selfish point of view I would like it to all end tomorrow as a ceasefire. Ukraine then gets massive support, NATO and EU applications allowed, security guarantees in the meantime. However I fully understand their will to fight on. I'm just a little worried that it could all go wrong from Ukraine soon.

Also I think if they said to Russia, ceasefire, let's negotiate. Russia would go okay fine. Keep boundaries as they are now but a guarantee, neutral Ukraine, no EU or NATO membership. There's no way Ukraine would currently go for that.
