Disclosure (basically a Scottish specific version of Panorama) on BBC Scotland has a 1 hour episode at 7pm tonight looking at Brewdog's corporate culture.

I'd have thought that would have sufficient interest across the UK to be on Panorama instead but it'll presumably be on iPlayer later on.

Basil Fawlty is back. A reboot of John Cleese’s British comedy sensation Fawlty Towers is in the works and Rob Reiner’s Castle Rock Entertainment is developing.

More than 40 years after the second and final season drew to a close, Monty Python star Cleese is set to write and star alongside daughter Camilla Cleese, in news that will bring joy to a generation of British comedy fans.

The new series will explore how Cleese’s over-the-top, cynical and misanthropic Basil Fawlty navigates the modern world. Plot details are largely being kept under wraps but the development will bring the story forward to explore Basil’s relationship with a daughter he has just discovered he had, as the pair tempt fate and team up to run a boutique hotel.

The Cleeses have joined with Reiner’s Castle Rock on the development, with Reiner, Michele Reiner, Derrick Rossi and Matthew George exec producing.

John Cleese praised George’s “understanding of the ‘creative process'” and described their first meeting as “one of the best creative sessions I can remember.”

Rob Reiner added: “John Cleese is a comedy legend. Just the idea of working with him makes me laugh,” while George described meeting John and Camilla Cleese as “one of the great thrills of my life.”

A series that is held up as one of it not for some arguably the best British comedy of all time (not my top comedy but for some it is) that’s famous for ending when it did at its peak - this has disaster written all over it.

Imagine the hackiest thing they could possibly do in a Fawlty Towers sequel, that's going to be the script. See also the Frasier reboot.

So Basil's daughter is going to be a complete character transplant of Sybil despite the fact that she's apparently not Sybil's daughter going by the article.

BBC soap Doctors, best known for starring Corrinne Wicks, has been scrapped:

BBC says: "We have taken the very difficult decision to bring daytime drama Doctors to an end after 23 years. With super inflation in drama production, the cost of the programme has increased significantly, and further investment is also now required to refurbish the site where the show is made, or to relocate it to another home. With a flat licence-fee, the BBC’s funding challenges mean we have to make tough choices in order to deliver greater value to audiences.

"We remain fully committed to the West Midlands and all of the funding for Doctors will be reinvested into new programming in the region.

"We would like to thank all the Doctors cast and crew who have been involved in the show since 2000. We know the crucial role Doctors has played in nurturing talent, and we will work to develop new opportunities to support skills in scripted programming.

"The final episode will screen in December 2024 and we are working closely with BBC Studios to give it the finale it deserves."
