I thought you meant Paddington Bear was coming back, but I like Jonathan Creek too.

New Bruce Parry programme on the beeb this autumn called 'Amazon', will be good.

Read in the tv magazine last week about a series called 'Merlin' and 'Robin Hood Series 3', the latter being no comparison to 'Robin of Sherwood' tv series in the eighties imo.

What's this about new Red Dwarf, they won't just let it rest in peace?

Hexx wrote:The early series were the best. And awesome.

The one where a kidnapper runs (with victim) into a garage surrounded by police...3 hours later the police open the garage after there's no response from kidnapper...only the victim left.

Proper thinks like that - misdirection and trickey - AND stuff the audience could work out too. Not the awful stuff in later series (where someone ended up killing someone with a mechanically tightening vest)

Yeah that one was class.

There's a bit that always sticks in my mind, I think it's from one of the first episodes, but I believe there was a murder in a lighthouse or something. I think it turned out that the murderer to escape being found had hidden against the back wall of the basement and had built a brick wall in front of himself, securing him in this tiny space. I don't really remember much about it, but I do remember that it scared the gooseberry fool out of me at the time

Also the theme tune is class

Yeah, that episode was brilliant, especially as they slowly chip away at the brick wall at the end to reveal his face. He changed the bulbs to make it dimmer in the bomb shelter so nobody would notice that the wall had seemingly moved forward a couple of feet. Do you remember that one where the guy jumps off a balcony and lands on a trampoline?

Vaguely.

I know I watched all the CQ ones because I loved it (even though, as mentioned, it creeped the gooseberry fool out of me) I did stop watching it towards the end though. Thing is it was so long ago I don't really remember much about it, except bits and pieces like the guy escaping the garage, the lighthouse, the sawing half trick that went wrong, the stolen painting etc.
If I watched the episodes again I wouldn't be able to tell you who dunnit.

The only one I can remember the outcome of was the episode with the gorilla. I didn't watch it that much after Quentin left but it really was fantastic.

The Davey Crockett hat-wearing serial killer was a blinder, creepy as hell.

Really glad we're getting a bit more, especially at Christmas- I love a good bit of Christmas telly, me. :)

I know if I create a thread about this it will instantly sink among the threads about toilet habits and usernames, so I'm posting it here, where it's at least slightly relevant.

Geoff Perkins has been killed in road accident.

Probably won't mean much to a lot of you, but he oversaw so many comedy shows (some poor, some fantastic), as well as appearing on a few. Sad news.

Am I right in thinking there was an episode of JC where some drain pipe fell on the victim's head and she locked herself in a cupboard?

Am I the only one hoping for a return of The Brittas Empire? Anyone? Hell, does anyone even remember it?

I remember that. 'Twas great. But I love Chris Barrie anyway so maybe my glasses are a tad rose-tinted.

I share your enthusiasm for it, but they strawberry floating are rose-tinted. You ever seen an episode recently?

Apart from a couple of scenarios where there were lines of dialogue that just wouldn't get clearance from today's ultra-PC BBC crood, it's crushingly bad.

Not even Chris Barrie could save that gooseberry fool.

What was that sitcom about a ghost or family of ghosts that haunted a family through their portraits? Talking about mid-90's.

I started watching Modern Toss, it's a bit hit and miss.

Still very funny for a British piece of innovative satire.
