For Sci-Fi fans Missions is pretty good. It's a French drama about a spaceship heading to Mars on BBC4. Episodes are only 20-25 minutes. Been 4 so far out of 10.

Watched episode 1 of Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing on BBC2 the other day. There’s literally nothing to the programme whatsoever and yet it’s hilarious. Mindless yet thoroughly enjoyable half hour. Definitely won’t be for everyone though.

Two middle aged men go fishing and talk about their dodgy hearts.

Sounds gooseberry fool, but it’s actually wonderful

Virgin Media have dropped every single UKTV Network channel from their line-up. For everyone. No Gold, Dave, Really, Yesterday, Good Food, W, Home, Drama, Eden, or Alibi. Just... What the hell.

I think quite a few of those channels are on Freeview/Freesat.

About half of them are. But the bigger point is - this is a major blow for Virgin subscribers, and if what reports are saying is true - that Virgin wanted to pay less to the network but were denied - it seems a tad wrong of them to cut ties and give very little notice to all subscribers.

I suspect I'm the only member of the forum still watching it. They've just got the rights for the house for 3 more years so wouldn't be surprised if Netflix or a small channel with big money picking it up.

Big Brother and CBB were only ever as good as the housemates inside, if you have a crap lineup, you have a crap show, but if you have some decent housemates then it can be TV gold.

The biggest problem with CBB in particular (in recent years) is the fact that only 1 or 2 of the housemates are actually celebs (and minor ones at that), the producers have a huge budget year on year yet spend it on reality nonentities and random americans who no one's ever heard of/couldn't give a toss about.

The most recent series would have fared far better had they not wasted their cash on building their entire show around Stormy Daniels (who never even showed up) and instead used it to entice some proper home grown household names who might be up for having a go (i'm thinking people like Timmy Mallett, Neil Buchanan, Nigel Farage (seriously, he'd be hilarious just like Galloway was), David Van Day, or Craig Charles), y'know, people we've actually heard of.

They hire a crap lineup, then wonder why no one watches anymore, it beggars belief.

I just wish ITV would give Prank Pad another go. At least that offered some entertainment.

Cancelled on Channel 5 (its new owners no longer want the station(s) to be as low rent as they previously were) but I don't think the show itself is going anywhere. It'll be bumped to some cable channel (or equivalent of) who would be high-fiving even if they lost 90% of the current Big Brother audience.

What is the Big Brother audience these days? I think I only ever watched a few episodes of the very first show back on C4 so have literally no idea how popular it is now, my assumption was that nobody had paid any attention to it for years?

I have always watched Big Brother ever since the very first series, this years CBB was quite entertaining mainly due to Roxanne Pallett being a awful person

So I see that ITV are possibly going to be entering the bidding for Endemol.

Peaky Blinders with adverts :dread:

Imagine watching Peaky Blinders and then that bloody Nationwide "poem" advert comes on. It'll be hard to know which Brummies to hate the most!
