Still buying DVDs.

I don't have any particular objections to blu-ray or uBD, but I've just never got around to buying a player of any description for them... kinda gave it the body swerve and jumped straight to online streaming.

Nope.

Had a 360, then a Wii U.
And the optical drive in the PC is still a DVD, because that was all I needed to install Windows.

This is totally something I'd be interested in, but a complete niche. I want my 4k, cinema grade movie for my 55" 4k TV that I don't yet own. I'm the sort of person who will selectively buy movies and want to get utmost quality out of them. The vast majority of the time, I'll stream any old gooseberry fool. Just make sure it's a reasonable 1080p.
I don't buy many films, but if I'm that interested enough to buy them, give me the very best I can get. I wouldn't mind paying a premium for the Batmans, avengers, interstellars, etc.

Pretty much every movie ever made has been recorded on 35mm film, which order to be digitised without losing detail requires a 4K digital scan, a lot of these films were already digitised in 4K before being bought to Blu-ray (a few, including the original Star Wars trilogy were digitally mastered in 4K for the DVDs), so if the format takes off expect to see all the classics dating back to the 1950s rereleased in Ultra HD.

For me, it depends on whether I can tell the difference on a 50" screen at optimum viewing distance for these older films, I've build up quite a sizable Blu-ray collection and, unlike my old DVD collection, I'm not sure whether I want to replace my physical copies again.

I also don't have a blu ray player. Have a 360 and a Wii u so no games console with blu ray either.

Rarely buy dVds. Just use Netflix and sky movies.

Don't all Samsung's Blu-ray players have a Netflix app?
