This is very unpopular with me! Have you seen Find Nemo or Ratatouille? Spirited Away or Akira? Anomalisa? All absolutely sensational films! How can you not like them?!

Wall-E, or Coco (Coco strawberry floating did me in).

Didn't see either of those. Pixar rarely balls up. Saying that, I have an unpopular opinion of my own. I didn't much care for monsters inc.

Yeah writing off all animation is definitely out there.

Equilibrium is one of my favourite films, I think that's generally not particularly liked.

Back To The Future 2 is utter crap. It is so bad I left the cinema before the end. It is the only time I have done that.

I love most of Nolan's movies but I agree with this.

I’m gonna put this one into the world - Christopher Nolan is a vastly, vastly overrated filmmaker. TDK trilogy peaked with Begins. Memento is good mostly thanks to Guy Pearce and Joe Pantoliano. Inception is really messy. Dunkirk is very average and Interstellar is middling.

I will not discuss this further. :slol:

I don't know if anyone else will have any opinion at all on this ( :slol: ) but I strongly believe Kiki's Delivery Service is the best Ghibli film.

I think I know at least one friend who agrees with this. I like the film well enough but best one? You're having a laugh.

It's definitely a contender and I'd happily back you in a fight.

I find it very hard to rank Ghibli films, so I'd be hard pressed to dispute it.

Agree with this except the second Batman was excellent. Dunkirk was my most hated film of whatever year it was. I just don't get why people liked it so much. It was so, so gooseberry fool.

Disagree heavily: even if you don't find it funny (which I can accept would be a weakness of a comedy), it's an outstanding satire of organised religion.

My film opinion is that Will Ferrell has never been funny in anything.

I loved Dunkirk but Interstellar is genuinely pants.

What do you mean a grown man eating spaghetti and syrup isn't funny?!

Trick question, it's actually The Castle of Cagliostro

It’s got a message but I’d argue it’s heavy handed and not delivered with much subtlety or wit, which is surprising given how many expensive top class degrees sit within the Pythons.

Less surprising when you consider the enormous, awful buffoon that is John Cleese I suppose.

I'd argue he was quite funny in that new Eurovision film, but I can't defend any of his other films.

To that end:

Elf is a gooseberry fool film, and the worst thing to ever happen to Christmas.

I love Memento, but I do wonder what it would be like to watch it for the first time with no preconceptions of the roles that Carrie-Ann Moss and Joe Pantoliano played in the Matrix (given how close together they came out) because, and maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I do think some of what makes the film works depends on you bringing certain preconceptions with you.
