I found the totem that showed Mike dying in the blaze so that gave the impression he shouldn't be the last one to leave... :shifty:

I lost three folk before the bit in the cabin, my remaining survivors made it through that in one piece.

Ashley got her head ripped off after thinking she'd heard Jessica.
She hadn't.
Jessica got her jaw ripped off after thinking she could outrun a Wendigo.
She couldn't.
Josh got his brains sprayed across the room after telling Hannah-ndigo to go away.
It didn't.

The first two were stupid decisions and the last one was down to not exploring enough. Just shows how much the game sucks you in when you realise straight away that you shouldn't have done something the way you did!

And done

My survivors were,
Mike, Chris and Emily.

Matt got killed by having his face impaled on a hook. Honestly couldn't see any way out of that. The Butterfly effect thing said he didn't have a weapon, but he fired the flare gun without me even telling him to I think. Also confused as to why a Wendigo would kill him that way when in every other case they've gone for using their bare hands to remove/rip apart people's heads.
Jess got killed because she tried to run. Realised right away it was stupid rather than hiding.
Ashley got her head twisted off for investigating a noise she thought was Jessica. Nobody in the group seemed to notice her missing.
Sam was killed in a bullshit third in a row "Don't move" in the cabin at the end where even though I didn't move it decided to flag up and kill her anyway. Was I supposed to just go straight for the light switch?
Josh got dragged off by Hannah-Wendigo because they recognised each other. Saw him post-credits half turned into a Wendigo and eating a head.

Think I might have to do another playthrough, maybe just use a guide this time for maximum survivors and to find all the clues/totems

Just started my first playthrough now, so tense already! I'm such a pussy. Loving the attention to detail so far though.

Is this game set up in an episodic/chapter like format? It looks like the sort of thing that'd be good to take turns playing a chapter each with the missus.

Yep, split into 10 chapters of varying lengths.

Sounds good. Roughly how long are the chapters? About an hourish? If so, I might pick it up.

There's collectibles etc and depending on how determined you are to pick them all up, it could vary. I would say there's probably 8 - 10 hrs of gameplay on average.

There's plenty of scope for replaying it too - chapters can be replayed so that you can make different decisions with the aim of getting a better outcome. I'd highly recommend it.

Bought. Cheers mate. Looking forward to one of us killing off the other's favourite characters.

Played the first two chapters tonight, taking it in turns with my wife and it's good fun. Very reminiscent of Shattered Memories. At the minute we both like Matt best and have made him act really aggressively towards Mike at every opportunity.

Also, was so surprised when Snafu popped up in the game. The graphics are also pretty awesome. When the characters really get animated it does dip into uncanny valley territory but when they're still or talking softly you could almost convince yourself that your are watching a movie.

Could some spoiler me what the Stormare bits are about? Or is it a big plot twist that will ruin everything? I'm guessing that his multiple choice questions are attempting to cater the game to my likes and dislikes, is that an accurate description?
Loving this game though, had one character die already but I'm about...err, chapter 4 I think. I hope Chris makes it, but anything could bloody happen.

You will learn more about those sections as you go on. It's safe to say that if for example you tell him that you're scared of clowns, then you will see plenty of clowns in your playthrough.
Just keep playing, they are a good way to break up the action at each chapter and will make a bit more sense later on.

Finished with 4 survivors. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be playing again to find the clues I missed. I also want to see if I can actually get everyone killed.

I'm well on the way to getting everyone killed. Seriously.
You want to invite me to a secluded location for a session? Forget it.

Completed this last night, what a superb game. The presentation was superb, loved all the nods to the horror genre and the clever use of camera angles. I really felt invested in the characters and keeping them alive which is such a rarity in gaming.

In my playthrough I'd only lost Jessica going into the final chapter, then it all went to gooseberry fool and I lost Mike, Emily and Ashley in the final scene. Went back to do another playthrough of the last chapter and lost Sam and Mike this time. Going to have one last go today to try and keep them all alive in that final scene!

so this is up for sale for £34.99 on the Store. Tempted. Very tempted. But I'm a right wuss these days when it comes to scary games (Outlast just almost gave me a heart attack and I never got very far in the PT demo). However I love and can easily watch the Final Destination & Scream films

So, would I be wasting my money with buying this - in terms of buying it but it being too scary?

No, you'll be fine. Get it, it's great. If you're okay with mainstream horror movies you'll be okay with this.
