I always felt McCain was a decent man, even if I completely disagreed with him on policy. I can't say I know too much about him aside from reading a lot about his time in Vietnam, but I don't recall him doing anything that went against democracy?

Certainly his personal behaviour during the 2008 campaign seemed pretty honourable (although aspects of his campaign were not so much). That concession wasn't the only time he stood up for the reputation of his opponent.

Moggy's video goes into the specifics of why McCain was a turd, but just in general - don't you think that if someone's politics leads them to become a politician for the Republican Party, that's actually a reflection of their character? Not having a go but how can you separate the two?

I see loads of people always trying to salvage G.W. Bush's reputation like this too. Maybe this is a militant, radical, communist view but I don't really care if he's into painting or nice to his dog, the dude is a monster.

He was a racist which is my problem with him.
