Wonderful win. I did worry a couple of hours ago but we steadied the ship fairly quickly.

I'll have to have a look to be sure but I'm fairly certain that he qualified for most Ryder Cups he played in. He was a smidge away from qualifying for this one.

For whatever reason the Ryder Cup does seem to inspire him, I'm not he stands a chance against an in form Dustin Johnson though.

He's played in loads of Ryder Cups, I think he's qualified for the majority but has also been a captain's pick a number of times I think. I was reading that he had one of the all time best records for a captain's pick for either side - 8-0-2 or something like that - going into this tournament, in which I think he was also a captain's pick, so that's got to be at least three times!

He is inspired by the Ryder Cup, but more importantly he tends to inspire the rest of the European team and power them to victory. See: Valhalla, Celtic Manor and Medinah.

He should be a mandatory pick for Ryder Cups.

Dustin is world number one but that doesn’t count for much. Look at Tiger’s record in the Ryder cup. It’s very poor.

Tiger is more the exception than the rule, I don't think he gets on well with the team aspect. Poulter doesn't hit it very far by modern standards and DJ is just on another level to him. Matchplay can be a bit of a leveller but Johnson just wasn't at the races today.

Not taking anything away from Poults, he doesn't just get points but gets them at times that shifts momentum.

That’s the first time in four singles matches that Johnson has lost so it was a fair point.
