I could never understand why people were so willing to go along with and appease monsters like Hitler and Stalin, but I at least comforted myself with the safe knowledge that it would never happen again. We know too much now to be taken in (or give in to) by populists, demagogues and monsters.

And then the last couple of years happened.

Its amazing really isnt it? I keep wondering why people dont just call him out on his gooseberry fool or stand up to him. Hes an absolute moron who has no place in politics full stop, nevermind being the strawberry floating President, but here we are with state visits, Tea with the Queen, and bending over backwards to appease him no matter how much he insults his host country. I really do feel sometimes like ive gone crazy when i read this gooseberry fool. Like you just strawberry floating KNOW the Queen thinks this guy is a disgusting piece of trash so why not send a subtle strawberry float you to him be feigning illness or something and cancelling? But no, hell get the red carpet treatment which only allows his ego to swell even more and makes sure even more world leaders toady to him

I can see why Britain is doing it. We’ve strawberry floated up so badly that we are desperate to be friends with the leader of a rich and powerful nation. It’s utterly disgusting (and could be avoided if Brexit was cancelled) but I can see why.

It’s beyond me why other nations put up with his gooseberry fool. Mostly fear I guess.

It is going to be fascinating in 10 or 20 years time to see how this era is looked back upon and to read the tell all books on the Trump Presidency. It’s just horrible having to live through it.

It'll be like the Germans having to explain the rise of Hitler and the Nazis, we'll all be too embarrassed about the whole thing and then we'll build a museum at the previous site of Number 10 that goes through the whole nonsense...

In this scenario we are not Germany, we are the halfwitted junior partner. Like a gooseberry fool Romania.

DUP MP Ian Paisley has told BBC Radio Ulster that Theresa May is like the "emperor with no clothes".

He says a trade deal with the US is still the only option and the PM will need to rethink her plan if she wants to do a deal, adding: "This is a wake-up call, the next 24 hours will be very important."

Mr Rees-Mogg said: "The UK wants to do a trade deal with Donald Trump and he said if you want to a trade deal with the United states this isn't the way to do it."

He later added: "That's a perfectly reasonable thing for an American president to say."

I don't know what all the fuss is about from everybody.

BTW, there's been a T-Rex placed around London these past few weeks promoting Jurassic Park - far more impressive.

This could literally be a tweet by Trump.

"I didn't say those things, I never said them. That failing newspaper is just more fake news, I hear that you even have fake news over here in the UK, in London especially where all the knives are. Did the Mayor arrange this? I'm not saying that, but it makes sense as everyone knows he's done a real bad job with the knives and the fake news. Brexit? What's that."

At the moment, I have no idea. I saw it outside Tower bridge a few weeks ago, and then a few days later I saw it again in Kings Cross outside the ticket office.

Regarding Trump, i have to say that i find the protesters with their big balloon and all their stunts to be a bunch of hypocritical bores.

They didn't protest en masse this way when the UK welcomed other dodgy world leaders, even though some have been far worse than the US president.

I respect their right to protest, but the hysteria surrounding Trump is completely ott and the people in charge of that balloon seem to be the biggest babies of all.

It's so funny how they give Melania all this PR gooseberry fool to do, as if anyone actually believes she gives a gooseberry fool about what she's having to do. Making poppies with kids? This bitch don't give a fuuuuuck

Do they get May's husband to do this sort of stuff when she travels to other countries? "Now Philip, I'm going to go and talk to the important people, so can you go and make some pottery with those locals over there."
