It's almost as though people were just trying to intimidate her.

Watching CNN’s coverage of the Trump visit, and the setting really looks fabulous. That’s about all there is to say for it.

All this pandering to his ego will probably be for absolutely bugger all (see also: France).

The BBC news this morning is like a nightmare.

The Sun editor calling Donald 'very honest', a quick catch up with those lovely people at the Trump Arms, and an MP blowing smoke up the presidents orange arse.

It's absolutely astonishing how much the World is willing to endorse him.

I could never understand why people were so willing to go along with and appease monsters like Hitler and Stalin, but I at least comforted myself with the safe knowledge that it would never happen again. We know too much now to be taken in (or give in to) by populists, demagogues and monsters.

And then the last couple of years happened.

I'm willingly to bet that Trump will continue his England is in turmoil schtick, using protests as an example of this.

Hey remember 6 years ago when the Olympics were here and we were all pretty happy with life and proud of the UK?

Feels like a century ago now :(

Air Force One, the 747 that carries the president, could be getting a major makeover. President Trump is reportedly considering changing the color scheme that's adorned the plane for decades, according to the news site Axios.

The blue and white Air Force One owes its iconic look to President John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie.

"It was all part of this whole pattern of him trying to create increased visibility of the presidency as an active office and a glamorous office which he succeeded in doing," said Ken Walsh, who wrote "Air Force One: A History of the Presidents and Their Planes."

"President Trump is perfectly willing to upend a lot of the norms of Washington and the conventions of Washington, and it appears that includes Air Force One," Walsh said.

“It's just the concern that President Trump the showman is going to go too far with changing the look of this iconic plane that so many people are familiar with and a lot of people wonder why do it?" Walsh said.

Another of the reported changes Mr. Trump is considering is a bigger presidential bed onboard the new plane. The current bed has been compared to a futon

You know the Olympics was probably a catalyst for this.

It made people super proud of the UK and England boosting patriotism which helped the we are awesome and we don't need anyone else message of leave and such.

The Olympics where we celebrated Mo Farah and Jess Ennis? I don’t think it had much to do with the shitstorm that has happened since.

The gooseberry fool in the UK and US has been bubbling away for a long time, Farage and his ilk have been there undermining things in the UK, the likes of Bannon and Alex Jones have been doing the same in the US. 2016 was when they finally got their way and unleashed their filth all over the Western world.

Its amazing really isnt it? I keep wondering why people dont just call him out on his gooseberry fool or stand up to him. Hes an absolute moron who has no place in politics full stop, nevermind being the strawberry floating President, but here we are with state visits, Tea with the Queen, and bending over backwards to appease him no matter how much he insults his host country. I really do feel sometimes like ive gone crazy when i read this gooseberry fool. Like you just strawberry floating KNOW the Queen thinks this guy is a disgusting piece of trash so why not send a subtle strawberry float you to him be feigning illness or something and cancelling? But no, hell get the red carpet treatment which only allows his ego to swell even more and makes sure even more world leaders toady to him

I can see why Britain is doing it. We’ve strawberry floated up so badly that we are desperate to be friends with the leader of a rich and powerful nation. It’s utterly disgusting (and could be avoided if Brexit was cancelled) but I can see why.

It’s beyond me why other nations put up with his gooseberry fool. Mostly fear I guess.

It is going to be fascinating in 10 or 20 years time to see how this era is looked back upon and to read the tell all books on the Trump Presidency. It’s just horrible having to live through it.
