They voted against all of that when they voted in Donny.

The majority didn't.

On that basis you are to blame for Brexit and Theresa May being Prime Minister.

I've noticed a lot of Mexicans/descent living in America on FB want this wall built and are actually Trump supporters. Just one of the posts on FB...

I'll delete this later, but I just wanted everyone to see the type of thing that many in the Southern states tend to believe.

Ed Balls had a similar experience on his documentary last year.

A lot (not all this isn’t a blanket statement ;) ) of immigrants and children of immigrants can be like that. I think it’s because they are desperate to “fit in” and prove themselves to be patriotic of their new country or the country that their parents moved to.

My brother in law is a Brexit supporting, Sun reader who thinks immigration should stop and who had zero sympathy for the Windrush people because “they should have sorted out their paperwork!”. And that’s despite his parents being part of the Windrush generation and knowing that his father had never bothered with the paperwork.

Stlvester Stallone is one example, but I’ll reply properly when I’m back at my laptop.

Variety:

Although he’s been called a Republican, for supporting John McCain’s 2008 presidential run, Stallone says he’s not a member of the GOP. “May the best fighter win,” he said. “I don’t think you can be totally one-sided forever. Then you close your mind to all sorts of possibilities. It’s just, ‘Who comes along better at that time for what the planet is going through?’ Right now, it’s pretty confusing on every side.”

Yeah, 78,000-odd did the trick. Not sure how Trump's electoral victory makes Photek's point invalid.

That's more reading than Trump can manage and I fully expect him to make some sort of accusation about the letter being an outrage.

He may not be a card carrying Republican but he officially endorsed every GOP candidate from Reagan to McCain and in the very interview you’ve quoted said that while he doesn’t endorse Trump, he “loves” him for his larger than life character. He holds Republican views, alongside liberal ones such as gun control(particularly on assault rifles). Schwarzenegger similarly breaks with Republican Party views on issues such as environmentalism.

Much like, you know, most people they are fairly nuanced individuals with an array of views when it comes to politics. Taking an us vs. them view of the entire Republican Party plays dangerously into the inexplicable rise of partisanship that’s gone on since the 1960s in the US, and runs the risk of dehumanising a really big group of people. It’s an incredibly short-sighted and in my view, dangerous way to think.

Excellent post.

I agree, I think I should stop generalizing Nazi's also. There's good on both sides and they are fairly nuanced individuals when it comes to politics.

Tbh, pedestrian posts like this trigger me. The Republican Party stands for everything that's wrong with politics and politicians in my view. It's views like Cora's that lead to Trump being president and Brexit, I'm not going to be baited into 'nuance' if the right wing continue with their bullsh*t tactics. I'm sick of it, we need to fight back against this instead of pandering to these people. You infer that I'm 'dehumanising' people while ignoring literal dehumanising by the white house seperating children from their parents and shooting tear gas into families at the border. Seriously, just do one.

Photek, it's me saying BioShock Infinite has some issues that triggers you.

It's people mildly criticising Microsoft that triggers you.

It's people using generalised terminology for a nation of people that triggers you.

Maybe the problem isn't the other posters?

EDIT:

Also, this is probably the best self-summation of a forum personality I've seen in a while.

To be fair, it takes effort to disagree and discuss.

It's a lot easier to get "triggered" and make a Nazi comparison.
