A lot (not all this isn’t a blanket statement ) of immigrants and children of immigrants can be like that. I think it’s because they are desperate to “fit in” and prove themselves to be patriotic of their new country or the country that their parents moved to.

My brother in law is a Brexit supporting, Sun reader who thinks immigration should stop and who had zero sympathy for the Windrush people because “they should have sorted out their paperwork!”. And that’s despite his parents being part of the Windrush generation and knowing that his father had never bothered with the paperwork.

I agree, I think I should stop generalizing Nazi's also. There's good on both sides and they are fairly nuanced individuals when it comes to politics.

Tbh, pedestrian posts like this trigger me. The Republican Party stands for everything that's wrong with politics and politicians in my view. It's views like Cora's that lead to Trump being president and Brexit, I'm not going to be baited into 'nuance' if the right wing continue with their bullsh*t tactics. I'm sick of it, we need to fight back against this instead of pandering to these people. You infer that I'm 'dehumanising' people while ignoring literal dehumanising by the white house seperating children from their parents and shooting tear gas into families at the border. Seriously, just do one.
