Used to be a time when people like that were seen as cowards, not some kind of national hero. It's getting to the point where any kind of gun crime by whites is seen as a "muh gun rights" issue.
It's pretty amazing that the murder of an unarmed person by people who just decide to go vigilante and dish out instant death sentences is even slightly defensible.
So, they're saying it's ok for anyone to just become Judge Dred and patrol the streets and the only sentence for crime is death. Yeah, that's a sane argument to make.
I just can't square their attitude on this, with their so called support of law and order. It makes no sense. In a land of guns, you could maybe justify shooting an intruder in your home, but to follow an intruder and shoot them dead would cross the line.
To follow a completely innocent person, confront them with a shotgun and and then shoot them dead is frankly farcical if it wasn't so tragic. I simply cannot think of any justifiable defence, and the right wing talking heads in the US just sound so ridiculous. I can't square it. It's one of those occasions where there is just no chance for any reasonable discussion on the issue with them.
