Fair point. My mum's side of the family all live in Northern Ireland and it was indeed very different from the rest of the country. I hope it's getting better now. The only time I've seen guns is at the Paralympics and the Farnborough Airshow.

Ah, so authorities acted only after a "national outcry". It is absurd that those two goons were just allowed to continue walking around as free men.

All-white grand jury will decline to indict, or all-white jury will decline to convict, or white judge (elected by white voters in gerrymandered system) will give extravagantly lenient sentence. Jim Crow never went away.

I wish I could say that's impossible but sadly it just isn't.

It's almost an inevitability.

I'm amazed that the right seem so keen to defend these two cretins. They shot an unarmed innocent man. Used to be a time when people like that were seen as cowards, not some kind of national hero. It's getting to the point where any kind of gun crime by whites is seen as a "muh gun rights" issue.

It's pretty amazing that the murder of an unarmed person by people who just decide to go vigilante and dish out instant death sentences is even slightly defensible.
So, they're saying it's ok for anyone to just become Judge Dred and patrol the streets and the only sentence for crime is death. Yeah, that's a sane argument to make.

I just can't square their attitude on this, with their so called support of law and order. It makes no sense. In a land of guns, you could maybe justify shooting an intruder in your home, but to follow an intruder and shoot them dead would cross the line.

To follow a completely innocent person, confront them with a shotgun and and then shoot them dead is frankly farcical if it wasn't so tragic. I simply cannot think of any justifiable defence, and the right wing talking heads in the US just sound so ridiculous. I can't square it. It's one of those occasions where there is just no chance for any reasonable discussion on the issue with them.

It also means that anyone at any time can be murdered for simply being suspected of a crime.
That's a world they want to live in. Insane is an understatement.

The fact that this seems to happen to black people much, much more than white really does show why many in the US think this is a race related issue.

Because they assume they will never find themselves in that situation.

Also, I suspect they wouldn’t hold the same opinion if it was black men shooting a white man.

Yep, you know you're living in a great country when you feel the need to take a machine gun to get a sandwich.

It’s sensible. You never know when a horde of Bernie commies might arrive with a NWO army to redistribute the sandwiches.

Is the right defending them?

In this rare case even Fox think they are guilty...
