I saw this last night and genuinely thought it was a parody.

I really don't mean this to disparage people who have an intellectual disability, but Trump seems like the result of an experiment to take someone with an extremely low IQ and give them a first rate education.

So he can only shut down the government until January as the house will then have a democratic majority and they will just restart it

It's amazing that they have a system where a political party can decide to shut down the government which means tens of thousands of government workers are just sent home unpaid. I would hope Trump's popularity would plummet but US conservatives hate government anyway so they don't seem to give a gooseberry fool which is just bizarre but I get the feeling many of them honestly would like to live in a country without a government.

85 year old Ruth Bader-Ginsburg is poorly at the moment:

God strawberry floating forbid Trump gets a third Supreme Court pick. Last President to get that many (one more, in fact) was Reagan.

If the Republicans do get another pick it's time to call it a day for liberalism in the US and anyone expecting decent employee rights or wages or any kind of environmental protection can be forgiven for losing all hope. To top it all off they hate government control of anything so education budgets will get slashed and you can forget about the government helping the poor or disabled.

The US republican party make the UK conservative party look like pot smoking and free loving hippies by comparison. I don't know why they just don't come clean and call themselves The Utter banana splits Party.

Anyone who isn't at least rich who votes for them is actively voting to make things worse for themselves so the super rich can have more money.
It's actually quite amazing to see such delusion in action and them claiming Trump is a man of the people and knows or cares about the poor and middle class are an interesting bunch as Trump couldn't be more of a rich entitled banana split if he tried.

It must really suck to be a billionaire with all the extra security and staff of the President at his disposal.

We should all chip in to get him something nice for such a tragic fellow.

I love the way he took ownership of the shutdown and said "He'd be proud to do it!" and at the same time tries to sound indignant about it and blame the Democrats. That's real leadership :fp: .

Trump is threatening to shut down the whole Southern border if his wall isn't funded.

I'd like to see just how much he can screw over the country just to get a wall built to see how bad things have to get before his fans decide that maybe they've made a mistake in choosing a giant manbaby.
If I was the Dems I'd just call his bluff and let him strawberry float himself entirely.

I mean, this looks to be what they're planning on doing right? Several analysts have come out to say that any closure of the border would completely strawberry float the economy of Texas at the very least, not to mention all the other border states. It would be a massive own goal by Trump with the only possible outcome being him reversing the decision after a few days and backing down...
