Republican senators on the Senate Appropriations Committee said Sept. 12 that the aid to Ukraine had been held up while the Trump administration explored whether Zelensky, the country’s new president, was pro-Russian or pro-Western.
I love how that can be taken either way What?! He's not pro-Russian? President Putin won't like that! Withhold!
I've been pissing myself laughing at it non-stop since I saw it. The glare would be hilarious on its own, but the footage is also shot like a scene from the US Office. The way it pans to reveal other annoyed / worried / exasperated people, then zooms all the way out but you can still see her seething in the background. *chef kiss* It's the perfect GIF.
I think this could be an own goal. Impeachment isn't going anywhere as Republicans hold the upper house. What it will do is allow Trump months and months of free attacks against Biden to slowly muddy his name.
Hopefully it will at least sway the floating voters enough to vote against Trump once they see him crumble under the pressure of the impeachment process. Trump is so terrible at speaking that he's bound to blurt out many embarrassing and nonsensical things in the next few months and I almost feel bad for whoever works for him. He's going to look more and more like the angry toddler he is and I think that alone may be enough to destroy his chances for 2020.

That sounds win-win.
Trump will not be impeached but an impeachment trial will at least hold him to account somewhat and allow for evidence to get out there. He’ll survive it, but it’s better than just letting him carry on and ignoring his wrongdoings.
If he smears Biden over the coming months then hopefully Biden will be forced to drop out of the race. Biden is a dickhead and there’s plenty of time for the Dem’s to get a decent candidate.
