New Hampshire primary is kicking off. Looking forward to seeing if Pete Buttgeek can carry the momentum he gained from Iowa to another victory.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

It'll be a Bernie win. Vermont is next door.

Oh absolutely. But if Buttgeek can do reasonably well, he may be able to carry it through to California.

Buttigieg is fast becoming the billionaire class' preferred candidate, and his record as mayor isn't exactly great.

A SOUTH BEND, Indiana, police officer who was involved in the controversial 2012 death of a man in police custody was promoted in October at the recommendation of Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski, a close ally of Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

...

Buttigieg has been criticized for his handling of other issues related to police chiefs since he took office. In 2012, he was responsible for the controversial firing and subsequent demotion of the city’s former black police chief, Darryl Boykins. The mayor took heat over Police Chief Ronald Teachman, who black police officers said they felt was racist. Both Ruszkowski and Teachman were named in lawsuits by police officers alleging discrimination.

Wells and Corbett were both involved in the plot to oust Boykins, having been caught on police recordings at the station organizing an effort to have donors lobby Buttigieg to remove the chief. Wells, referring to Tim Corbett, said on one recorded call, “Tim says it is going to be a fun time when all white people are in charge,” according to former South Bend police communications director Karen DePaepe, who listened to the still-secret recordings. Brian Coffman, who represented Anderson’s family and is currently representing Logan’s family in a federal civil rights lawsuit, filed a motion last month to intervene in the pending legal battle to get those tapes released.

I feel like he's just a young Biden, but with next to no name recognition across the south or with African American voters. I'm not into party purity tests, and I'd support him if he wins the nomination, but in Sanders and Warren we have much better candidates.

I realise the bar is already through the floor, but I can’t believe a president is retweeting something with that much bad language.

In a 1:48 am tweet Tuesday, President Donald Trump decried federal prosecutors’ recommendation that a judge to sentence Trump’s longtime political adviser Roger Stone to seven-to-nine years in prison. Within hours, Justice Department sources indicated that prosecutors would reverse course and instead propose a shorter prison sentence for Stone, according to several news outlets.

The Justice Department’s senior leadership now believes that the initial recommendation was excessive and not proportional to Stone’s crimes, Bloomberg reported, citing an unnamed official.

The most annoying thing is imagining how nuts Fox News would have gone if Obama had done something similar?
They wouldn't ever let it go and they'd be going insane about how unPresidential it is. They moaned like strawberry float about him wearing a tan suit as if it was some kind of crime so the hypocrisy is just mental.

Now at 3 resignations I think and some are from the DOJ itself.

NH ended up being much closer than most thought - 8 delegates each.

Bennet is out, following Yang's departure yesterday.

Gabbard is still somehow still in.

The more I read up on Buttigieg the more I dislike the guy. Aside from a CV that seems to scream "C.I.A." in massive block capitals, his mayoralty has seen a lot of really bad decisions when it comes to minority relations.

NB. I'm not saying he's an asset or anything but he's clearly well connected with the 'intelligence community', which is alarming enough.

I get a bad vibe from him, but he's not the worst candidate. He takes joint 5th place for me, after Sanders, Warren and Klobuchar, ahead of Biden and Bloomberg.

Klobuchar still rubs me wrong, ever since I heard how she treats her staff like gooseberry fool, but she's still sort of okay to me right now. Probably won't win, but still.

To be fair it would be nice to have a President who's got some relationship with intelligence :shifty: .
