Trump is an old fashioned, screw you entrepreneur who has zero empathy for those he employs and thinks profit (mainly his profit) is the only reason people are alive. He'd rather shut a company down than have to pay maternity leave and somehow some people back him.
It's fascinating to me to see so many Americans actively voting and canvasing for worse working conditions just so the already ultra rich can get more money on the theory that if we give them enough they're bound to eventually spend some or employ people.

Those same people hate the idea of royalty but what they are creating is a class of ultra rich who make any historical royal look like a pauper.

Certainly you’re entitled to that point of view, but do you have reasons as to why you believe that to be the case?

I’m always wary of making blanket judgements about conservatives because I think it plays into the hands of somebody like Trump who wants to encapsulate that siege mentality, weaponise it, and turn it against the liberal mindset. He’d sooner accuse liberals of being intolerant than recognise that in himself. And ultimately, I think it leads to the kind of tit-for-tat partisanship that is currently tearing the United States apart.
