I don't think I'd celebrate even after the results come in with how Trump has been talking and getting his supporters riled up. He's going to do everything he can to stay where he is and cry election fraud if he loses. I'll wait until he's actually out of the White House and Biden is in there before celebrating.

Even then the real fight for change needs to happen. Biden is unlikely to change anything that needs changing and in 4 or 8 years we'll likely see another Republican using the Trump playbook to "drain the swamp".

Getting Trump out is going to be great. But without real change this is only going to happen again.

I just don't see how another Republican can use this playbook. The cult of Trump is so strong, I don't see who else is going to be able to make those plays. I think the Republicans are in for a shock if they do lose this election.

I don't mean a clone of Trump.

But Biden is likely to be a return to an Obama style administration. Relatively competent and stable but with nothing fundamental being fixed with America.

Plus Biden is going to have the economic fallout of Covid.

Add that together and 2024 is going to be wide open for a flashy "drain the swamp!" style Republican that promises to fix everything, punish the immigrants that steal jobs etc etc.

Biden isn't a fix to the issues, he's just a temporary reprieve from the madness of Trump. The circumstances that led to Trump are still there and if not fixed (they won't be) then America is strawberry floated.

Of course Biden might surprise us. He might push for proper change, the Dems might control both houses and most of the states and everything is wonderful. I'm not holding my breath though.

What’s the deal with all these Hunter Biden messages?

It’s quite likely the Democrats will win the Senate and even more likely they will win the House, so holding all three is more likely than not. I think it’s less likely they’ll actually make the radical changes needed in the two years they will have to overhaul both the damage of the Trump administration and the underlying undemocratic issues America has been facing for years.

He had some dealing with some dodgy company in Ukraine but he's never really been implicated in any actual wrong doing.

I saw a write up of the Hunter Biden story:

A semi blind man (and avid Trump supporter) who owns a computer repair shop on the other side of the country from Hunter Biden randomly receives three laptops from him a year and a half ago. But as he's partially blind he's not sure if it was Hunter Biden or not, and there's no CCTV footage or anything of it being dropped off. However the laptop had some Biden Foundation sticker on it so he thinks it was him. He also has a receipt though with "Hunter Biden" written on it.

Hunter Biden, having dropped off three laptops containing unencrypted incriminating evidence such as emails, child pornography, pornographic videos, videos of him smoking crack, and text messages for repair then leaves them in this shops possession and doesn't bother to collect them. The owner had no way to reach him, so he kept them.

The semi blind shop owned somehow in the process of repairing them finds the evidence, and speaks to some intermediary who then gives them to the FBI. There are multiple conflicting dates about when this happened. The shop owner ALSO at some points says in fact the FBI contacted him about the laptops, and ALSO says they already had them but asked him for help accessing them... he can't make up his mind. There's also conflicting information about whether the FBI took the laptops themselves, or just copies, or what. Either way, the FBI get the device full of highly incriminating evidence in December 2019... and nothing at all comes of it.

The owner then contacted Rudy Giuliani (huge Trump ally, on Trumps private legal team, central figure in his impeachment) who took the laptops. He also gave a copy to Stephen Bannon (far-right news site Breitbart fame, Trump's old campaign manager, recently arrested for money laundering). Or maybe he made a copy first for Rudy? They can't seem to decide which order the events happened in. Either way, Rudy then sat on the child pornography(!!!) and other stuff for 9 months or so, and now has eventually decided to start dripping information about it out to various right wing news sources, and given copies to the Delaware police, even though the FBI already have it. However he wont actually release anything which is evidence, any real information, or anything which can be interrogated at all really. He's choosing to release things to random far right commentators on twitter, who somehow appear to have the inside scoop on the FBI investigation (counter to what the FBI have said).

The emails "released" are poor photoshops, are widely discredited, and the releasers are refusing to show the metadata associated which would prove whether they were real or not. The metadata on the released pdfs of the emails have dates of October 2019 which is after the laptop was dropped off.

Sounds like a cast iron case.

Trumps wife moving her hand anyway when he goes to hold it speaks volumes.

I love also how he’s saying he thinks the vaccine will be a couple of weeks when his own people are saying the new year. The guy is desperate

Just watched the second debate - not even close, Biden the clear winner.

Come on![/Biden]

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

BBC have aired 2 of the 3 part series The Trump Show.

It's really well produced and entertaining. Definitely worth checking out.

On a side note, I'd forgotten how funny this episode of CYE was:
